Every Friday night in our household is Family Movie Night.

My son gets so excited to run up and grab one of his favorite movies so we can all snuggle up with a big bowl of popcorn and enjoy our end of the week treat.

And every single time we do this, I come away from the movie in utter amazement at the messages I receive and the reminders about how life really works.

So much so, that I have been inspired (time and again) to write a post about the specific messages because they are SO amazingly true.

Now, most of the movies we watch are kid’s movies, but I am always astounded by the wisdom that is sprinkled throughout and I hope that they ring true to you as much as they did for me.

Movie:  The Croods:

Quote: (Dad)”Those rules. They kept us ALIVE.” (Daughter) “That wasn’t LIVING…That was just NOT dying!”

The Universal message: Fear doesn’t just keep you ‘alive’, it also keeps you from truly living.

Food for thought: What have you allowed fear to keep you from truly living?

Movie:  Meet the Robinsons:

Quote: “Keep moving forward!”

The Universal message:  You are never done with living life.  With whatever mistakes, mishaps or perceived snafus that happen, keep moving forward is all you need to do and it always works out.

Food for thought:  Where do you need to keep moving forward?

Movie: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Quote: “There’s plenty of money out there. They print more every day. But this ticket— There are only five of them in the whole world, and that’s all there’s ever going to be. Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money.”

The Universal message:  There is MORE than enough money to go around.  The only thing keep us from it is the thought that there is a limited supply.  It is printed every single day and when you focus on the ‘golden ticket’ moments of life, money flows effortlessly.

Food for thought:  Where are you seeing lack in your life and ignoring the ‘golden ticket’ moments of life? Isn’t it time for a change?

Movie:  Frozen

Quote: “Let it go!!!”

The Universal message:  Let go of the fear, the worry that you are too powerful and the way others think and feel about you.  The only thing that matters is LOVE.  Let the rest go. Oh, and when you are feeling like life is challenging or you know-you freeze an entire city, just let it go and have fun.  The rest will work itself out.

Food for thought:  What do you need to let go of right now?

Movie: Lego Movie

Quote: “Everything is AWESOME!!!”

The Universal message:  YES everything IS awesome when you choose to see it that way! And it’s even better when you give yourself permission to live your dream.

Food for thought:  How can you choose to see the awesome in life, because everything is indeed awesome.

Movie: Big Hero 6

Quote: “I’m not giving up on you. You don’t understand this yet, but people need you. So let’s get back to work.”

The Universal message: Don’t give up.  The world needs you and the Universe isn’t giving up on you or the brilliance you bring to the world.  Keep. Going.

Food for thought:  Where do you need to try again?

Movie: The Muppets

Quote: ” Life’s a happy song….I got everything that I need, right in front of me.  Nothing’s stopping me, Nothing I can’t be with you right her next to me.” ( I could keep going but you get the idea.)

The Universal message:  Life is amazing.  Always. And when you focus on the things right in front of you and experience the beauty that is surrounding you, it just gets better and better.  You have everything you need…and then some.

Food for thought:  What are you focusing on right now? On the beauty, joy, and love of life or something else?

Messages come in a variety of forms and they may mean something different to you.  What messages have you experienced or received recently?

What’s in your toolbox?

Before I get to today’s post, have you completed my brief survey?  If not, I’d love it if you would take a few minutes to share your thoughts with me for a chance to win one of 5 free coaching sessions I will be giving away on Thursday.

I remember many years ago in college I was seeing a mentor/counselor to chat a bit about a relationship I was in and on more than one occasion she asked me what was in my toolbox?

When I was met with a problem or a challenge in my relationship or in my life in general, she wanted to know what tools I was using to cope and help solve those problems.

It was a funny idea as I wasn’t quite sure what type of tools I had at that time, but it was also the beginning of me filling my toolbox with practices, rituals, activities, mindset strategies etc. to help me not just cope and survive life, but to THRIVE.

As it turns out, I’ve done so much research in the last 10 years that I’ve collected a TON of tools and practices that I share with my clients to help them continue to grow and evolve and create a life they ultimately love.

One of the misconceptions about coaching (or at least my style of coaching) is that by hiring a coach you are entering into a long-term relationship where the coach will give you the answers you have been seeking.  That’s actually the exact opposite of what I do.

My mission is to help women like you fill your toolbox with the practices, strategies, knowledge, and other tools that are available to us all to help empower you to be more of who you really are and do more of what you really love.

In a sense, I suppose I’m more of a teacher than a coach, though it doesn’t really matter what you call me. What matters is that you know you don’t have to get the answers from anyone else.  All the answers you are seeking lie within you and it is my job to teach you how to access them.

Is that a business-killer?  I don’t think so.

I like to think of it as me being in the business of empowerment.  I want you to learn the tricks of the trade so you can ride off into the sunset and live that crazy amazing life you’ve been dreaming of.  You don’t need me holding your hand for years to come.  All you need is a toolbox stocked full of tools you can use to tap into the wealth of knowledge that you have lying within you.

I guarantee that in this very moment you have a few things that work for you.  Maybe communication, journaling, art, or writing are some of the tools you use.  That’s perfect!  But, I want to teach you more…a lot more.

In fact, I want to teach you a new tool every week for the rest of the year and the ONLY people that are getting access to this amazing wealth of information right now are my 90-day Breakthrough & 6-Month VIP clients.  For the next month, anyone who registers to work with me in either of those programs will automatically gain access to this Special Bonus that includes a wealth of knowledge that I am calling the Universal Toolbox.

In it you will learn all sorts of tools to help you focus on what you want, shed the layers that are no longer serving you, and tap into the amazing power you have within.

You are going to learn tools and concepts like vibration, energy healing, tapping into your intuition, visualization, forgiveness, gratitude, mantras, affirmations, law of attraction skills, and so much more!

Not only will you learn how to use these tools each week, but you will be able to connect with others learning the same things and you will be invited to an exclusive weekly call to help you implement those tools.  This is a HUGE bonus that will catapult your vibration and manifesting abilities to another stratosphere.

So, are you interested in learning more about this bonus and possibly working together?  If so, let’s schedule a FREE 30-Minute Consultation to chat a bit about how I can help you.

Gratitude: Surrendering & Simple Things

May 24, 2013 by Lamisha

gratitude1

When I wrote my last post, I was convinced my “issues” were behind me and I was ready to move forward.  What I didn’t know was there was a lesson looming that I had to learn before I could truly move forward.  The lesson?  Sometimes we need to surrender to the power of the Universe.  That’s it.

I took some measures into my own hands yesterday to be proactive in checking on my financial mishap to ensure it wouldn’t continue to haunt me.  In the process, I ended up with more confusion and frustration than I had in the prior two weeks.  After speaking with several people who I thought would be able to assist me, I was told “there is nothing you can do”.  Excuse me what?  This situation that I want so desperately to “fix” is out of my hands?  I don’t understand.

After fighting with that thought for an hour or so, I gave in.  I accepted the fact that this particular situation had to play out however the Universe saw fit.  I had to surrender in order for it to resolve itself.  And while I wanted to fix it, I couldn’t.  So, I opened my arms, said a little prayer giving the situation and outcome over to the Universe with faith that all would be well in the end.  At that point something amazing happened.  I didn’t worry or fret about it as much and I simply moved through my day changing my thoughts to whatever I was currently working on.  I couldn’t worry about it anymore, for it was now out of my hands.

This morning I woke up refreshed from a good night’s sleep and grateful for the free feeling I had upon waking.  I could feel a freshness in the air and a new energy for my day that made me smile.  I didn’t even think about the financial situation for I was able to see past it and into the many blessings I had around me at the moment.  My son, my partner, and our lives together.  I had finally let go.

When I checked on the issue this morning, it had finally been resolved and not only that, I was able to get all of the fees associated with this issue reversed as well.  In that moment I opened my heart and gave a heartfelt prayer of thanks to the universe for taking care of the situation as tears of joy flowed.  I learned my lesson and am so grateful for knowing that all things work out no matter how bad they seem if and when you surrender.

In the midst of my surrendering, I became very aware of the many simple things that I often overlook.  For instance, the amazing blue sky that greeted my son and I on the way to his t-ball game last night or the white fluffy clouds that caught our attention on the way home.  I was reminded of the simple yet abundant pleasures we have all around us.  I felt the soft breeze coming in my office window this morning and appreciated the warmth of the sun on my face as I took a moment to truly be in my body.  These are moments we take for granted far too often when we rush around worrying about a time that has yet to arrive.

With a long weekend ahead of us, I hope you find many simple things to be grateful for and that you slow down long enough to enjoy them.

Have a wonderful weekend and as always thank you for reading!

Letting Go Of The “How”

March 7, 2013 by Lamisha

Yesterday I set the date for action on writing my first children’s book.  I was excited, a little anxious, but mostly excited.  The words were forming in my head and if it weren’t for my day job, I would have immediately grabbed a pen and paper and started writing.  One of you wonderful readers called me brave for setting the date and I hadn’t even written one word yet.  I was feeling far beyond optimistic.  I had decided my dream would come true and nothing was going to stop me until….

I started wondering (more like worrying) about the “how”.  How am I going to get this writing contract by the end of the year when I didn’t know the first thing about getting a book published?  Do I need an agent or can I just send my proposal and manuscript on my own?  Where do I find the right publishers?  How long will it take?

The questions just wouldn’t stop and as I started researching the “how”, I became frozen in fear.  There were so many websites saying how hard it is to get a book published let alone a children’s book, and how long the process takes.  The rejections will come flying in or you won’t hear anything at all.  As I read all I kept feeling was my dream slowly deflating.  I wish I could say I was easily able to brush it off and find my positive place again, but I can’t.  Instead I fell into a fog of disappointment and fear that carried over to this morning.

I woke up feeling uneasy, overwhelmed, and just off.  I couldn’t put my finger on it but as soon as I began writing this post the fog began to lift.  I then remembered this…I don’t have to know the “how” right this second.  I don’t have to figure it all out right now.  If I can float on my excitement and creativity and keep my dream alive, the Universe will conspire to help me.  With a positive attitude I will be led to the path that is right for me and while so many naysayers (online at least) have stated the difficult road that lies ahead, I am choosing to believe it doesn’t have to be that way.  Just as easily as so many other pieces in my life have fallen into place, this will too one way or another.

I don’t have to know the “how” in order to believe it is possible.  In fact, no knowing the “how” makes it that much more exciting.
