Ask the Coach: Q & A Part 3

How do I know that my life purpose is indeed my purpose?

The simple answer is that if you are doing something you love and you are following your heart then you are indeed living your life purpose.  One misconception many people have about their life purpose is that it has to be one ‘thing’ and the only thing.  Or that when they realize it that the clouds part and angels sing and everything feels right with the world.  While that might make things much more interesting as far as life goes, it’s not exactly how it happens.

You know you are on the right path and doing what you are meant to do if it brings you joy and you are following your heart.  The truth is your life purpose can evolve in the same way we do as individuals.  Don’t worry about choosing one thing or feeling like there is something wrong with you if you don’t choose one thing.  Listen to your heart and do what you love.  That’s all we really need to do anyway.

What does it mean when you lose motivation and what can I do to reignite it once it’s lost?

This is a great question!!  If you think about the question above you might think that if you have lost your motivation for something or you feel a bit sluggish in one area that somehow your purpose has shifted.  That certainly could be the case if it happens over and over again, however motivation comes as a general ebb and flow.  The truth is there is a difference between motivation and inspiration.

Motivation is generally caused by an external force while inspiration comes from within.  It’s similar to someone jumping up to go to the gym and you being motivated to join them, but when you have to go alone, you don’t generally have the inspiration to do it yourself.  When you begin to lose the motivation to do something and you truly want to continue doing that thing (whatever it is), then you must tap into first the ‘why’.  Why is it important for you to continue doing it?  What are you getting out of it?  What is it fulfilling for you?  Answer those questions and see if you don’t become inspired to begin again.

You can also lose motivation by way of burn out.  Sometimes pushing, forcing, or otherwise trying to make something happen can create burn out and you simply need a break.  Take time out to do something else entirely.  Go have fun!  Many times I find this to be exactly what I need to do in order to be inspired again to move forward.  In fact, I found myself spending the holiday season taking time off to just relax, regroup, and re-energize myself.  Once they were over I was able to jump back in with both feet to what is inspiring and motivating for me.

When you’ve lost motivation or inspiration try a few of the things listed below.

  • Take a break and go do something entirely different
  • Have FUN
  • Ask yourself why you started to begin with and reconnect with what is important to you
  • Do some EFT to see if you can actively shift whatever is stopping you
  • If you still can’t seem to get motivated, it might be time to shift your focus and do something completely different

I hope this installment of Ask the Coach has been helpful for you.  If you have questions that you would like to submit, simply contact me here with your question and I’ll be happy to include in in a future post.

Do you want a life with more meaning in 2016? Read this!

If you would have met me about 15 years ago, you would find that I was struggling with finding my true calling in life.  While I was going through the motions of living the responsible and logical life I thought we all should live, my soul was slowly dying.

As the years passed by, I realized I was craving a life where I knew I was making a difference.  A life that would allow me to embrace all parts of my being and feel creative, powerful, and passionate about life.  Isn’t that what life was supposed to be about?

Didn’t they tell us that we could be anything we wanted to be growing up?  I couldn’t quite figure out how that could be when everyone was telling me to do all the ‘adult’ things like go to college, get a job, and then pay bills like the rest of society.  I felt like an odd duck for wanting more.

Not necessarily more money (though I did want that), but more meaning.  I wasn’t willing to accept the idea that we were put on this planet to merely survive life.  My soul told me otherwise and come hell or high water I was going to figure out what it would take to create that meaningful life I so desperately craved.

And I did and it turns out it boiled down to 5 simple things…(Spoiler alert: Money wasn’t one of them.)

You can read more about my passionate awakening and the 5 Simple Ingredients for a More Meaningful Life over on The Huffington Post here.

Feel free to read it and if you like it share it with someone who could use the info.

Do something that scares you…

About a year ago I decided to take a leap of faith before I was entirely ready.

In September 2014 I submitted an article to the Huffington Post. To my surprise they liked my article and I became a regular blogger for their site.

(My latest article titled: 11 (More) Universal Truths that Will Change Your Life for the Better is here.  Feel free to read and share it with those you think need to see it.)

The second article that I submitted got raving reviews and is still a HUGE hit on the site.   A few weeks later it was such a big hit, they translated it to be published on Huffington Post Spain.

Talk about shocked!

Women from all over the world were reaching out to me after that article because they wanted my help. My words resonated deep within them and they wanted to create change in their lives.

I was in awe.

Amazed.

Humbled.

My words created a stir within so many souls and since then I’ve been writing, sharing, and creating programs from the heart to serve and inspire women like YOU.

Yesterday the sequel to the first article was published and I’m celebrating this huge moment by sharing the article with you in hopes that it inspires you to take a leap of faith of your own.

Your leap may look different than mine.

Maybe you decide to go back to school, start writing your novel, or reach out to a coach you’ve been wanting to work with.

Maybe it’s auditioning for a large (or small) role in a play or starting your own Etsy shop, or submitting your latest poems to be used on a greeting card.

Whatever it is…do it.

The truth is you may never feel 100% ready to take the leap.  When I wrote the first article, I know I didn’t feel ‘ready’.  I was inspired to do it and saw it as a challenge.  Looking back it was exactly what I needed to do to continue to grow and evolve and I’m so glad I took the risk.

Today I want YOU to take your own risk.  Don’t think about it, just do it.

Then let it go…

The truth is you are never truly ‘ready’ to do the big things, but when you feel it in your heart…you just know you HAVE to take the leap.

If you are looking for some inspiration and support for your very own leap, I’d love to chat with you.  If you are READY to kick the doubts, fears, and other BS to the curb and make magic happen in your life & you are ready to invest in YOU.  Schedule your FREE 30-Minute Consultation to chat with me about how I can help you make that happen.

Why are you settling??? It’s time to break FREE.

***Before I get into today’s post, I want to invite you to check out my latest article that has been a huge hit over at The Huffington Post titled : 6 Ways to Find Your Passion & Live Your Purpose. ***

Now for today’s post.

I’ve noticed something over the last few years and it’s really getting under my skin. In fact,  it has become so prevalent and obvious in the last few months I want to set the record straight

Somehow, we have become a culture that believes that while you can have a mostly awesome life, you can’t have everything you want no matter how how hard you try.

There are many people who have come to accept that if you have a fabulous career you love, your relationships have to suck.

OR If you have an amazing relationship, you can’t have all the riches your heart desires.

OR If you have all the money you desire, you might have to enjoy it all alone. (The list goes on. )

It’s as if they believe they are undeserving of having it all and living the life of their dreams is some myth that only happens in fairy tales.

Well I call bullshit.

Who are you not to have it all?

Who are you not to have the love, the riches, the joy, the career, the family, the fame, and anything else your heart desires?

That is what life is all about.  Living, loving, sharing, expanding, and experiencing all that life has to offer.

Do you know what happens when you believe that you can’t have it all?

You settle.

You settle for the parts of your life that aren’t working because you believe that if most of your life is going well, who are you to complain?

But I’m here to tell you this; You don’t have to settle and you certainly don’t have to accept that because 80% of your life IS working that the remaining 20%  has to remain a struggle.

Now, I’ll be honest and say that I USED to think that way.

I thought that if my business was booming and money was flowing that my relationship had to take a fall.  Or if things were really amazing in my love life, then my business and income had to tank.

And you know what happened?  I manifested those very things.

When things were running smoothly in my relationship and in life in general, I somehow sabotaged things in my career.  And when I had a really amazing month in my business, I’d start an argument with my partner.

It as as if I just couldn’t handle all the good at once and I had to have something to worry about.

It took a few years of learning, growing, and lots of life lessons to get to this point, but now I see it and can make changes in my mindset and in my beliefs when I start feeling myself settling.

The truth is, you CAN work through the BS that is holding you back no matter how long you’ve struggled with it…but it’s difficult to do alone.

Lucky for you, this is my specialty and is the EXACT reason I set up the 30-Day Break Free From Stuck program.

If you feel:

  • Like you are settling in your career, relationship, or life in general
  • STUCK in one area of your life that just isn’t working for you
  • Like you’ve done all you can and still can’t make that last 20% of your life work for you

It’s time we had a chat.  I am a firm believer in reaching out and asking for help and I’ve seen amazing miracles happen when I’ve done that myself.

If you are ready to break free and make magic happen in your life once and for all, schedule a free 30-Minute Consultation to chat about what’s going on.

What finding your purpose really means.

Everyone wants a life they love with money, abundance, joy, peace, and passion for what they do right?

Sure! Who wouldn’t want that?

BUT-there are far too many women settling for ‘good enough’ because they aren’t sure how to get to that passionate place and while I work with many women on finding what lights them up and sets their soul on fire…my work is really about helping you tap into your purpose.

What finding your purpose really means is finding the thing that you are meant to do right here, right now.

It doesn’t necessarily mean it will be forever, but it will be something that lights you up and something you do that brings you joy.

And guess what…finding your purpose doesn’t necessarily mean making it your career…that part is entirely up to you.

If you are struggling to figure out your purpose here are a few tips to get you thinking in the right direction:

  • What do you feel called to do?  I’m sure you may be feeling the call to do something specific.  Maybe it’s to spend more time traveling, to do more writing, start a blog, or go volunteer at a local shelter.  What is it that is calling to you right now?  (Hint: The first thing that popped into your mind is IT…write it down.)
  • What do you LOVE to do? What kinds of things do you love to do?  What do you do because it simply brings you joy? What would you do for FREE? Think about it, make a list, and write it down.
  • What do you do with ease already? Think about the things people come to you for help with.  What is it that you do without thinking? What are you good at? What comes naturally to you? (Hint: If you aren’t sure, ask the people who know you best.)
  • What experiences of especially molded your life?  Think about your past and the BIG moments that really shifted things for you.  What did you need in those moments?  What were you looking for at the time?  What kinds of things did you need that you didn’t realize you needed until you got it?  Think about it and see what themes appear.

Once you have all that information together I want you to see if there are any common themes.  What pops up over and over again?  You may very well be thinking…”Why didn’t I think of that???”, because finding your purpose isn’t about locating it outside of yourself…it’s about recognizing what is already there.

And I want you to know that your purpose can change and evolve as much as you do, so don’t get stuck in thinking what you do now is what you will always do.  The beauty of life is that we have an amazing gift of choice and free will.  Use that freedom and enjoy the process because that is what it’s all about.

I want to hear from you.  What is your purpose?  Share in the comments below.

P.S.  If you haven’t signed up for the Soul Desire & Reiki Session giveaway, there is still time to get signed up.  Winners will be announced on June 2nd, so make sure you check out this post and get signed up here.
