Cookie-cutter, one size fits all coaching. I call bullshit.

It’s time for me to share this message with you and while it might not be very popular and you may decide to unsubscribe, but it’s something that has to be said.

Today, I’m owning my essence and sharing it with you today.

No more hiding or being afraid that I might offend someone.

Today I’m calling bullshit on all the cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all, do it MY way and succeed methods of coaching and teaching (and anything else for that matter).

Yeah, it sounds good and many of us want guarantees that specific methods and modalities are going to be surefire ways to transform our lives and make us rich forever more, but that only holds true if we are all the SAME, which we aren’t.

YOU are a beautiful mixture of cells, soul, and energy combined with your many experiences from this lifetime and beyond.

YOU have amazing gifts, thoughts, skills, and natural talents that make you the incredible being that you are.

YOU are not cookie cutter and neither am I, so why is it that there are so many strategies that speak to ‘the one’ thing that will change your life forever more?

Why aren’t there more people, strategies, teachers, healers, and the like teaching us how to tap into the all-knowing, ever-growing, incredible force that we all have inside of us to make our lives amazing?

Why aren’t more people teaching us to tap into our intuitive gifts so that we may be empowered now and forever more?

In the last 2.5 years as my business and coaching have evolved, I’ve come to realize many of the traditional things didn’t work for me no matter how hard I tried.  I tried to do business the “right” way, even when it didn’t resonate for me on the deepest level.

I tried. I listened. I pushed. I forced, and I tried again.

For an entire year I thought something was wrong with ME because the strategies the “pros” were telling me to use just weren’t resonating and I was losing faith in my inner compass.

I was losing myself.

It wasn’t until I finally stepped away from the formulas, the strategies, and the sure-fire-ways to success that I found myself again and what I was really meant to do in my work.  It was something I had to learn to do for myself first.

Sure my work is helping you to create a life of your dreams and give yourself permission to live an amazing life, but it’s more than that.

My work is more along the lines of empowerment and teaching you to listen to your soul and do what is right for you!  It’s teaching you to blaze a trail for your life that fits YOU…not the life someone else set forth for you.

I am here to teach you what I have learned the hard way and that is to find your way back to yourself so you can live and experience life the way your soul intended.  I’m here to help guide you back to YOU so you can stand in your truth fully, happily, and unapologetically because you don’t fit any cookie cutter approach and that’s ok.

Today, I call bullshit on the one-size-fits-all approach to life and the pursuit of happiness and instead I’m embracing the beautiful, sometimes topsy-turvy, journey of discovery.

I am accepting and embodying my flow and I’m asking you to do the same.

Listen. Respond. Act. And when you need assistance, reach out, but make sure you are connecting with teachers, healers and the like who are helping you find your way back to YOU.

The truth is, there is no magic pill or path to happiness, money, success, or anything else.  There’s only YOUR way and you have to stand strong in your power and be willing to find your flow.

My purpose is to help you do just that.

If you want to join me on this self-discovery journey in finding your flow and embracing your essence, I’d love to chat with you (simply hit the button below).

May you always embrace the calling of your soul!

Follow the Signs to Your Destiny

It’s a new day, a new week, and I am full of all kinds of ooey-gooey goodness for the week ahead.  I have to admit last week ended with some information that boggled my mind, but after mulling it over for a few days and choosing to let it go, I am ready to rock this week!

I have had this post brewing for a few weeks and it is just now ready to be shared.  With all the newness coming in the last few weeks, my content has taken a bit of a backseat to announcements and exciting free events.  (Have you signed up for the Free Money Mindset Masterclass that is happening on Thursday yet? How about the Group Coaching Program starting in June?  If not, hop on over and get signed up for both of these amazing opportunities.)

If you have been here for a while you know I am a huge fan of synchronistic events, messages, and signs from the Universe that let me know I am headed in the right direction.  I LOVE getting little winks from the powers that be to tell me, “Hey girl, you got this…just keep going!”

One of the most recent occurrences happened a few weeks ago as I was driving my son to school.  I was thinking about the group coaching opportunity I was creating and as I was thinking through the details, my vision, and the vibe I want to bring to the group, I began thinking about the specifics…which is always the point when any blockages or barriers come up.  Before I could venture down the path of ‘Is this going to work?’ I came out of my thoughts and the first thing I saw was a sign that said “DON’T BLOCK the intersection”.

I immediately knew that was my sign from the Universe to stop my thoughts where they were and not to go any further with the terrible what if scenarios that were primed and ready for me.

Now, you must know that I pass by probably 10 signs just like this one on my daily commute, however I have NEVER taken them as a direct sign from the Universe.  So what made this sign so different?  How did I know that it was meant for me?

I have actually had clients ask me how they can recognize the signs from the Universe.  To put it simply, you just trust your intuition.  Sure, I could’ve written the incident off as a coincidence, thinking that I just happened to stumble upon the sign as I was thinking about some potentially negative stuff, but I know better than that.  At least now I do.  It has taken me a few years to really get into the flow of seeing the signs around me.  It also helps to ask for signs when I feel uncertain or wonder what the next step is.  Sometimes messages come in the form of tangible signs while other times it’s just a passing thought or a quote that touches me deeply.  However they come, I almost always know for sure it was a message for me.

I have had other instances when I hear or see common themes in various conversations and after a few times I recognize it as a sign for me.  Sometimes figuring out what they mean can be a bit challenging, but if you are really tuned into the moment and are open to receive the message, you will know without a shadow of a doubt what it means.

So today, as you begin your week I invite you to tune into your body, your intuition, and the spirit within that guides you.  Is there something you need or have been wondering about that will lead you to the next step?  If so, ask for a sign and then be open to how it may come.  You may read a title of a book, hear a song, recognize a literal sign on the road and know that it was meant for you.  Try it out!  I can’t wait to hear how it goes.  Feel free to share your experiences in the comments below. 🙂

What Inspiration Really Is

January 15, 2014 by Lamisha

In the last few weeks I have had a few clients question what inspiration really is and how it shows up in life.

My ‘oh so knowledgeable coaching self’ responded with: “It depends”.

The truth is that inspiration is different for everyone.  What inspires one person might completely deter someone else from doing what they need to do.  Our likes and dislikes are so very unique that telling you what form inspiration can take for you would likely not be entirely true.

The same goes for how it shows up in your life.  Some people get inspired in a way that makes them excited, uplifted, and running to the canvas, the page, the computer, or whatever they are inspired to do.  For others, it comes as a faint whisper that can easily go unnoticed.Dandelion

I can’t speak for everyone, but I can tell you what I have noticed from myself and from clients regarding the many ways inspiration can show up.

I am often inspired by quotes, books, lines in movies, articles, music, nature, conversations with others, and oddly enough, water.  I get some of my best ideas when I am in the shower and my mind is on auto-pilot with no real rhyme or reason to the direction my thought process in the moment.  I also notice that when a great idea for a blog post, offering, quote, or something else comes to me, if I am not open to it, then it will vanish as quickly as it came.  So, as a result I have learned to be open to the ideas that come and to write them down as soon as I can, even if I have no idea where it might lead. (Take a glance at my brainstorming notebook and you will find a collection of ideas, words, titles etc.)

In my coaching, I talk a lot about inspired action and following your inspiration to the next step, but I have found that there seems to be a misconception about what inspiration actually feels like.  For most people it is simply a heightened awareness or thought that leads to another thought, that might lead to doing something etc.  One thing leads to another and before you know it you have followed the breadcrumbs to an amazing destination that might manifest itself as wonderful opportunities, a book, a course, a piece of art, etc.

What is interesting is that inspiration doesn’t always result in a fire-in-your-belly-run-as-fast-as-you-can-back-to-your-workspace feeling.  Sometimes it comes as a whisper.  A faint thought that peaks your interest and gets you thinking about something in a different way.  It may not seem all that important in the moment, but I am here to tell you those faint whispers hold a ton of power and punch if they are used the right way.

In fact, the name of my blog, my coaching model, numerous blog posts, a new offering I will be rolling out next week, and a future workbook I want to put together all came to me in faint whispers.  Some came a few words at a time, others came as full-fledged titles and images, but the one thing they all have in common is the speed with which they came to me.  One moment I was doing something (like washing my hair) not related to my business or writing work and BOOM there it was.

Inspiration is an amazing thing and sometimes all it takes is the ability for you to be open to it and not try to force it into being.  Simply noticing moments that peak your interest and lead you to something else (an action or a string of thoughts), is a great way to learn more about your process of creating and living the life of your dreams.  It’s a simple step that will likely be a game-changer in how you live and is something I do with all of my clients.

Have you experienced big inspirational movements or do you generally get the gentle whispers that lead you to the next thing?  How does inspiration show up for you?  Share in the comments below, I would love to hear how you are inspired!

Your Gift, Your Dream, Your Path

January 14, 2014 by Lamisha

If I have learned anything in the last few years, it is that we all have gifts to give to the world and if we are lucky enough to realize them, we have the opportunity to make them into our dreams.  With that dream comes a path that will teach us amazing lessons along the way.

The person you were when you first realized your gift is not the same person you will be when you apply it to your dreams.

You will change. The Bamboo Forest and some great Twitter Lists to follow

Your path might too.

And as much change, lessons, amazing insights, and growth you go through, at the core you will be the same.

At your core, in your heart, and in the midst of your creative soul, you will be the same.

That passion and love you are sending out into the world has always been with you on some level.  It may have started as just a tiny seedling of interest, inspiration, and hope that eventually developed some roots of importance and passion.  Through storms of confusion and frustrating questions of “how” things would turn out, you have held true to your path, your calling, and your gift.

The path to creating the life of your dreams is yours and as you travel it you get to decipher what lines up with your vision and what does not.  And every “mistake”, “mis-step”, and “failure” is really an opportunity to learn and grow.

So take the first step on your path with positive expectation and open arms for all that you are going to discover about yourself and the world around you, for nothing will provide a more amazing journey than you setting out to make your dreams become reality.

One step is all it takes to get you to the next.  Why not start now?
