Major Epiphany & Life Lesson for You

I’ve been a bit MIA lately and there’s a reason for that.

In the last 2 weeks I’ve felt a bit off kilter in my journey.  I felt the shift happen after I came back from a wonderful vacation and started to feel like there was a transformation that I was indeed preparing for.  What that transformation included, I wasn’t sure, but I knew something was coming.

And sure enough it was.

I’ve had these moments before when I go through a major life upheaval with emotions running high and lots of blocks and beliefs that need released.  It’s a process for me and one that I understand very well even if it feels like shit while I’m ‘in’ it.  But, what I always know is that on the other side of this upheaval there is always light, purpose, and expansion that I couldn’t have if it hadn’t been for the upheaval.  For those moments I am grateful.

Last week I was in the throes of it and finally decided to announce it to my Love Your Life Tribe Facebook group because I wanted to be authentic, honest, and I wanted everyone to know that no one is perfect.  EVERYONE goes through these moments and despite the discomfort of the process, it always works out in the end.

Thank goodness the fog is beginning to clear and I am finally being able to see the lesson here and I am passing it along to you.

My major epiphany & life lesson for you is in: Letting Go.

I am one of those people who tends to be a bit of a control freak.  I like to think I am the one running things and making magic happen in my life (sorry Universe), when in actuality I am just following the nudges of my intuition and the Universe.  However, in the moments when I am struggling with making something happen (i.e. meeting financial goals, figuring out how to do something etc.) I go into overdrive and try, try, try, until I can’t possibly try anymore.

And when that doesn’t work (which it usually doesn’t) I go into the mode of thinking I MUST be doing something wrong (because if not, then it would all be fine right) and then I TRY AGAIN.

Looking back I can see how it might be like me banging my head on a door that won’t open thinking that if I just bang on it hard enough, POOF it will magically open.

Yep, doesn’t work like that.

So the key in those moments (or in the less dramatic moments when you aren’t sure which way to go and you know how all of this works) you let go of the NEED for things to change right then and there and keep moving on your merry way.

Now, that’s hard to do if you are dealing with money because how exactly do you go on your merry way when bills are due?

I’ve learned the hard way that you just have to TRUST.  LET GO & TRUST that it’s all going to work out and in actual fact it IS working out for you even if you can’t see how or when or why it is.

Trust is a funny thing because it means you have to simply let go of the thing you are worrying about and go with the flow of life.  And what takes that up another notch is to be HAPPY & JOYFUL in spite of the given challenge.

Last week, that is the last thing I wanted to hear.

I was struggling (in my mind) and I didn’t want to hear any woo-woo message about letting go and letting the Universe (or God) take care of things for me.  As much as I KNOW that to be true, I wasn’t in a place to hear that.  I had to go through the frustration and the emotion of it all to finally get there….

And I finally made it this weekend when I was getting messages left and right on letting go and simply allowing life to unfold and being JOYFUL through the process.  Funny how that works huh?

The one quote in particular that literally shifted everything for me was this:

“The dichotomy is that for true healing to occur, I must let go of the need to be healed and just enjoy and trust in the ride that is life.” Anita Moorjani from Dying To Be Me

The truth is you can enter just about any word in place the word “healing” and the statement would still be true.  Abundance, love, peace, etc. all follow the same formula.

When you let go of the need to have something and just enjoy and trust in the journey of life, things transform and the very thing you let go of, comes back to you.

Letting go of the need is necessary to manifest your desires and being joyful in the process of life is what life is all about.

And that leads me to simply asking myself this, “How can I enjoy the moment right here, right now?” and then acting accordingly.

Simple truths with magnificent power.

My question for you is this…what do you need to let go of right now?

If what you need to let go of is the feeling of being stuck, check out my free audio 5 Ways to Break Free From Stuck below.

A Lesson in Leaning Back

I’ll be the first to admit when I want something, I can become hyper-focused on it. (Ok maybe a little obsessed.)

I think about it.  I visualize it. I analyze it. I talk about it.

I often jump into action mode quickly and can sometimes forget to listen to my heart.

When it comes to my business and my goals, I often lunge forward when what I truly need to do is lean back and trust.

Today I was reminded of the importance of leaning back.

I’ve been working a bit on expansion in my life and in my business and part of that means reaching outside my comfort zone.

I’m taking risks and stepping into the spotlight so much more than I have before.  It’s exciting, exhilarating, and honestly it feels so right.

But, in the midst of taking inspired action and clearing my own BS, I sometimes come to a point when I get too focused on the outcome.

I want results and I want them…last week.

The result?

Lots of resistance, disappointment, feelings of lack, and taking forced action as opposed to inspired. (It’s not pretty.)

But, lucky for me I have an amazing support system including my own business coach who reminds me when it’s time to just lean back.

So, what is leaning back really?

To put it simply, it’s trusting the process and staying the course.  It’s detaching from the results and knowing that everything is working out perfectly.  It also means that you know that whatever it is you are trying to manifest or achieve is already done.

It’s happening now.  The money, relationship, career, and clients you want are on the way.  When you stay the course and know it is all coming to you now, you don’t have to worry. You can just enjoy the ride.

I’ll give you another example of what happens when you lean back.

A friend of mine was having a few slow weeks in her business.  She was doing the work and trying hard to figure things out.  She was in action all the time, until one day when she decided she needed a break.  Both her mind & body needed a reprieve from all the action so she took a few days off. She lounged around in her comfy clothes and allowed herself some time to just rest.  In the middle of her second day of rest, she gets a call from a new client.

Leaning back allows the energy you have put into motion to do the work for you.

No more pushing, prodding, or forcing things to happen.

So if you find yourself feeling anxious and are being busy for the sake of being busy.  Try a different approach.

Just lean back. Let go. Let it flow, and remember you have the power to create & enjoy the life of your dreams.  Sometimes that means letting go of the reins so the powers of the Universe can work for you.

Do you feel like you are forcing a particular area of your life right now?  If so, what is it? Share in the comments below and commit to leaning back for a few days.

Purging: Stuff, Ideas, and Clutter

October 22, 2013 by Lamisha

While many people tend to do the whole “Spring Cleaning” thing, I tend to do it sporadically throughout the year.  I have no rhyme or reason to it and I don’t really schedule it either.  I simply get this incredible urge to clear out my physical space to create a better flow.  One of those times tends to come at the end of the year.

It’s that time again.letgo

I have been feeling this incredible urge to organize, purge, and open up the space around me, but it doesn’t just stop there.  I am also doing a lot of mental and spiritual work.  I am setting some internal intentions for how I want the rest of the year to go and making plans for 2014 as well.  While I haven’t done much physical purging as of late, I have a feeling I am going to be doing so much more in the coming weeks to make room for all the amazing things coming in the new year.

There are a few reasons I tend to get this way particularly around the new year.  One is the fact that I am somewhat of a minimalist.  I don’t need a ton of stuff and I can easily part with most items if I don’t like them anymore or don’t use them.  Clothes are the easiest for me.  I have a closet full of clothes now, but much of what I have I don’t wear since I work from home.  I guess knowing new things typically come in around the holidays, I want to make sure I am making room for them and keeping things I know I will be using.

When it comes to ideas, I have a tendency to reflect on the past year while planning (loosely) for the year ahead.  I can see a lot of growth in the past year and look forward to what is coming in the new year and letting go of some of  my old beliefs can be helpful in that regard.  This one isn’t always smooth sailing.  I tend to learn lessons throughout the year and learn them again and again as time wears on.  Some things are easier for me while others remain sticking points much longer than I would like and as I am growing my business I have lots of ideas that I want to get rid of.

When I talk about clutter, there is the very physical clutter that I just can’t stand (i.e. piles of papers, unnecessary items etc.) as well as the unnecessary time clutter.  This can come in the form of practices that are no longer working for me, habits, or commitments that no longer fit my bigger vision.  This is probably going to be the toughest thing for me pare down as I like to be busy.  I also have a tendency to pride myself on longevity in a task or position and letting go of something that no longer fits my bigger vision can be difficult.

My Purging Lists:

Stuff:

  • Clothes and shoes I no longer fit or like
  • Papers, magazines, books that I won’t be reusing or don’t need
  • All of my full-time work “stuff” once this job ends (shredding documents I no longer need now and recycling them)
  • Odds and ends taking up space in closets and storage bins that are not needed/necessary

Ideas:

  • Thoughts that I should be further than I am with my business
  • “Realistic” beliefs that I can only earn a certain amount of money from my business in the first year
  • Comparing where I am in my business progress to others who have been doing it longer

Time Clutter:

  • Excessive Facebook/email checking
  • Too much technology usage during weekend time
  • Jobs that do not interest me

I hope that by letting go of some of the overall clutter above, I will be allowing myself to be much more intentional about what I do with my time, energy, and thoughts.  Let’s face it, you have to be willing to let things go for new things to come in and what better way to get started than to let go of the old stuff that may be holding you back?  As my current position comes to an end, I know my time, schedule, and surroundings will clear out and that will invite new projects, ideas, and inspiration to flow in.

What are you willing to let go of?
