Hello 2015: I’m Ready!

January 6, 2015 by Lamisha

Hey Gorgeous,

How’s 2015 treating you so far?  Are you ready for this to be your best year yet?

I know I am.

Typically around this time of year, I am hitting the ground running on my planning, dreaming, and scheming for the year ahead.  I grab my Leonie workbook and light some candles and get busy filling in all the details of 2014 and do a big release of everything that no longer serves me mentally and physically.

This year was a bit different.  When the holidays rolled around, I was literally ill.  My entire family got sick around the same time and it’s taken me a few weeks to get back to my normal, healthy self.

Thankfully, I’m on the mend and was able to get busy on some super exciting things coming up that I will share with you soon. (I know, I know secrets, secrets are no fun, but this one is worth the wait!)

So, since I didn’t get a chance to say a big goodbye to 2014 and hit the ground running right out of the gate in 2015, I’m playing catch up.

And I’m ok with it.

In fact, it seems that while this year is going to be about massive action, risk taking, and dreaming (and living) in a big way, I am easing into the year.  Not only do I not make resolutions, but I am taking a bit more time to dream, set my intentions, and get clear on what 2015 means to me.

In years past, I’ve written a letter to my future self, created a vision board, and even set my theme for the year all before the new year even began.  This year, I’m doing things a little differently.

I’ve picked my themes for the year and they are: Going Pro (for my business of course) and to Live Big (in my personal life).  The underlying theme for both is to have FUN.

What’s life without a bit of fun, dreaming, and enjoying the ride right?  Have you set your theme for the new year?  Done some intention setting for what you want to manifest in the year ahead?  It almost feels like a beautiful blank sheet of paper that is so perfect, you almost don’t want to paint on it, but where’s the fun in that?

I want to hear about your BIG, BOLD, Dreams for 2015.  What are they?  Share in the comments below and let us support you and add fuel to the flame as we all get into action for our dreams to come to fruition.

In the meantime, if you are interested in taking your dreams to another level by hiring a coach, let’s schedule a free 30-minute consultation to chat about your vision and what you want to create for 2015.  It’s your time to shine! So, let’s get busy!

Recent Lessons & Major Breakthroughs

May 5, 2014 by Lamisha

Let your light shine!
Let your light shine!

Being a coach, I am not exempt from life lessons and major breakthroughs that I help my clients through and this past week has been a pretty big week for me.  Not only am I stepping more into who I really am as a business owner and coach, but also who I am as a wife, a mother, and all the other shoes I fill.  It’s both liberating and sometimes downright scary to look at all the things I am doing in my life and where I want to be.  I stand in awe as I look how far I have come and am amazed at the progress while still looking ahead to everything that I want to do.

I wanted to take a moment to share with you my recent life lessons and ‘aha’ moments that have come from my conversations with clients and my dear spiritual soul sisters who have shared their amazing gifts with me.  I hope that by reading this you are able to identify with some (if not all) of the lessons and feel your own transformation and healing begin to take place.

  • Have Fun: This is such a good reminder not just for me but for any of you wonderful business-minded souls who are working, striving, and making moves in the business world.  We are too often caught in the building phase of our empire that we forget what it’s like to truly LIVE and have FUN!  In fact, I was given the assignment to do something fun every single day and I had a hard time thinking of what I would do!  How silly is that?!  Fun is a huge piece of the happy life puzzle and it is what opens us to the magic that is in the world.  So, I ask you: What have you done for fun lately?

  • Recognize and Celebrate Your Own Brilliance: As a coach, I am able to immediately see the light and brilliance that my clients have.  I see it, connect with it, and reflect it back to them in ways that they can see and feel it.  It can be far more difficult for me to stand back and view myself in that same way which at times results in doubt, frustration, and dare I say fear? A wonderfully talented soul sister of mine reminded me that I don’t have to compare my talents and gifts with any one else nor do I have to place anyone on a pedestal while viewing myself as ‘below’ them on the totem pole of power and authority.  When we are stepping onto our true path, it can be far too easy to compare ourselves with those around us.  We take note of their success and all that they have conquered while tallying up our ‘successes’ that never seem to amount to much. But when we can step back from our ego and view our life, our accomplishments, and our gifts through fresh eyes, we see that comparison is not necessary.  We are all brilliant in our own way and simply knowing that is the first step to truly seeing it.  I want you to know that you are brilliant as well!  Whether you are an artist, coach, healer, yoga instructor, or you are an amazing parent, partner, animal-lover etc.  YOU are brilliant and have a light and many amazing gifts that the world needs.  See it! Embrace it! Celebrate it! 🙂

  • Take Risks: This one is a HUGE message I have been getting in the last few weeks but I only recognized it last week.  Most of my life I have had this internal fight inside of myself.  Logic vs Dreams, Stability vs Freedom, Comfort vs Adventure.  I haven’t ever really been the risk-taker in life and have spent much of my life taking calculated risks while worrying about the best decision to make to keep things ‘stable’.  Since I started my business I have been playing it safe too which translates to playing small.  I have put my toe in the water of uncertainty and slowly eased in when what my heart really wants to do (and what my soul is aching to do) is dive in clothes and all!  I have been in my own way and while it may not seem like that on the outside, there are many ways it is manifesting in my life.  Procrastination, timidness, fear, and more uncertainty.  But here is the flip side of all that.  I KNOW that in order for me to be wildly successful and do all the work I am truly meant to do, I must stop with the fear, stop with the calculated risks and listen to my heart again.  The same heart that told me to leap into my business.  The same heart that said, I don’t know how but I will figure it out.  The same heart that at one point told me to move over 300 miles away from my home, my friends, and my family for love.  THAT is the heart I am listening to.  So risks I shall take and I encourage you to do the same.  So what if you don’t have all your ducks in a row, some ducks may show up to the party fashionably late, but that doesn’t stop the party.  Jump! Leap! Dive in and watch what happens to your life!

  • Ask For Help: I don’t know if this is because I am the oldest child or if I have developed a sense of ‘I can do it all myself’ syndrome, but somewhere along the way I decided I didn’t need help.  Not only that, but even if I did, I wouldn’t ask for it. And I am not exactly talking about asking my fellow neighbors and friends for help, I’m talking asking the Universe and the Divine for assistance.  I am a firm believer that part of what makes our amazing lives so great is the amount of support we receive from other realms.  Call it Heaven, God, Goddess, Angels, the Universe, or whatever it is you believe in, but I know that we are not meant to travel along our paths alone and yet there are times I don’t ask for help. So, I am getting back to my daily connection with Spirit (both mine and the Universal Spirit of all things) through meditation and prayer to bring that wonderfully supportive energy back into my life and business.  We don’t have to do everything on our own, nor do we have to know how, who, what, when, and all the extra details that go with it.  We can simply ask and be open to receive the answer.  It’s that simple! So, what could you use a little help with that you have been doing all on your own?  Ask, and you shall receive!

I hope that my recent breakthroughs and life lessons resonate with you and open your eyes to your very own blissful breakthroughs.  The more I grow, learn, and evolve, the more I realize life is a series of lessons that further uncover our greatness, beauty, and purpose.

May you have a bit of fun, recognize your own brilliance and light, take a few risks, dream big, and ask for help from the amazing and always loving Universe today and always.  Things are changing and life is too good to stay in one place and play small.  Reach beyond your comfort zone daily and expand into every corner of your greatness and watch as your life transforms into the most amazing ride you never thought possible.

Sending you lots of love,

Lamisha

Have Fun Friday: Playful Exploration

January 17, 2014 by Lamisha

Happy Friday Dreamers,

I hope this week has brought you lots of progress, joy, and a ton of fun, but if you find yourself lacking a bit in the fun department, this post is for you!

Too often we fall into a pit of productivity with an undying need to produce and check items off our to-do list and in doing so we find our energy is lacking, inspiration has taken a hike, and the things we really WANT to do, quickly fall by the wayside.

I know this, because I was falling into that same pit this past week.  As the week wore on, my motivation grew less and less until I just couldn’t find the energy to even look at my to do list or do some of the stuff I have been excited about for the last few weeks.

So, what do you do when things feel so ‘meh’ and you need to jump-start your battery?

Have a little (or a lot) of FUN!medium_4555697070

When was the last time you went out exploring?  Took a class that peaked your interest just because. Been to the movies lately?  What about taking the family to the park or on family expedition for a hike to explore the great outdoors?  When was the last time you did something to shake up your day?

I can tell you it’s been far too long since I have been to the movies or taken a hike.  I haven’t even taken a stroll around my neighborhood in quite some time, so I think some FUN is in order for this fantastic Friday.  Don’t you?

So put away your to-do list and your calendar.  Turn your phone off and leave your tablet at home and go out and have good old-fashioned, no technology, no distractions, explore the world FUN.  Be playful, have fun, and connect with yourself, your family, your spouse, and nature for goodness sake.  The work will still be there when you get back and I promise, you will get more done in less time when you return simply because you gave yourself a chance to breathe.

As for me? I am going to switch up the scenery a bit and bust my son out of daycare early to go on what he likes to call a “magical adventure” to places unknown.  I may not know where we are going, but I know wherever it is, we are going to have fun.

Enjoy your weekend dear dreamers and as always thanks for reading!

P.S.  If you haven’t signed up for my VIP List, please do so today.  Next week I am announcing some service changes and will be giving away a very inspiring gift to one lucky reader and if you are on my VIP list you get first dibs on new stuff so you don’t want to miss out!

Lessons Learned: Be Brave, Tiny Steps, & Fun Is Important

Friday posts are generally my Gratitude posts and while I will maintain my gratitude practice outside of the blog, I wanted to begin a new series titled: Lessons Learned.

With each new step in my business and life changes overall, I feel like I am continually evolving and growing.  And while some weeks feel more like growing pains, my hope is to reflect on the lessons I have learned each week so I am more aware of what I am learning in the moment.  I hope you will join me in reflecting on your week as I am sure we all are learning new lessons about life, love, and the pursuit of our dreams.

This week has included a plethora of opportunities for me to engage my bravery skills to do some things that sort of scared me.  My intuition was telling me I needed to send two emails in order to not only grow as a person, but also to get more comfortable with various aspects of the business world.  I listened to my inner guidance and hit send and even before I received any correspondence back, I knew I had done the right thing regardless of the outcome.  I also had to make a big decision regarding my business logo.  I had so many options to choose from and after momentarily feeling like I was going to select the “wrong” one, I listened to my own advice (imagine that) and followed my gut.  I can’t wait to share it with you when it is complete because it is gonna be gorgeous!!

Lesson: Follow your intuition and be brave in spite of your fear.  You will be glad you did.

I have also been working on brainstorming some ideas for other services and products I want to create and offer to my clients.  I found my inspiration well a bit dry, however I realized I hadn’t really taken the time to sit down and think about it.  Until last night.  In a matter of 20 minutes by simply reviewing old notes, ideas, and doing a little research I had a light bulb moment!  Once the idea hit, I was off and writing and am even more inspired now about how I can implement this new idea.  Again I can’t wait to get this project under way and share it with you!

Lesson: You don’t need to make quantum leaps to achieve your dreams.   Tiny steps make a huge difference.

My last lesson is one I just learned today.  As the summer has flown by, I found myself yearning for just a little getaway.  Not a huge vacation or anything too extravagant, but something easy to end the summer.  After thoughts like “I should really wait,” or “We really shouldn’t spend the money,” etc. I decided I wanted to find a way to have an affordable end of the summer trip and I am proud to say it is in the works.

Lesson: Business is important, but fun is too.  The work will be there when you get back so when you find yourself questioning whether you should or shouldn’t remember fun is important.
