A Look Into Your Future…

Where will you be in 2015?  I know it’s an odd question for the middle of October 2014, but think about it.

Imagine where you will be.  What will you be doing?  What doors are opening for you? What dreams are you achieving?

For you, it might look like the unveiling of your new business website or booking your very first client.

Or maybe the book you’ve always wanted to pitch is now being sent to the publishers for a final edit.

Maybe you find yourself booking your flights & accommodations for spending 6 months traveling the world.

Or you see yourself quitting that job you hate and stepping into the career of your dreams with more money, more purpose, and passion than ever before.

Maybe you just signed the lease for the brick & mortar shop of your dreams and are filling it up with all kinds of creative goodies that people will love.

Or you see yourself drawing, painting, writing, and creating amazing pieces that people are just breaking down your door to buy.

Maybe you are doing what you have always dreamed and that is spending time at home with your children while your creative business takes flight.

Or you see yourself putting the finishing touches on your home art studio and getting ready for your very first art showcase.

Maybe your dream is something else.  Maybe it’s a bit smaller or much bigger than any of the things I’ve listed above, but the common denominator in all of those examples is that they are all possible.  Every single detail.  Anything you can imagine for your ideal life is possible.

leap

But, you must first take the leap.

I want you to take a moment today and look at where you are.  Not where you have been or what opportunities you have missed in the past.  Look at where you are today.

Without the leap you will stay where you are.  Where life is ‘ok’ and you settle for what you have.  Your heart will push you and your desires will pull you, but without that leap, you stay exactly where you are. Dreaming of…one day, when all the pieces fit together and your dream is delivered magically to your front door.

But it doesn’t happen like that.  You have to decide to take the first step.  To utilize your freedom of choice to decide to stay where you are where it’s “safe” or leap out of your comfort zone and embrace the life you have always wanted.

I want you to ask yourself this question:  What do I want most out of life? What is my vision for the future?  Think about it. Paint the picture. Enjoy the feeling of having it already done.

And then ask yourself this: Am I ready? Am I ready to do what needs to be done?  To take the leap and trust that the how will be revealed to me?  Am I ready?

And if you answered “YES” then I invite you to schedule a 30-minute clarity call to find out how we can make that happen and the options that are available to you for getting started on that amazing dream of yours now.  Not when the clocks strikes 12am on December 31st and we enter a new year, but right NOW.

You have the chance to move into 2015 living your dream, but you have to take the first step.  I have a few coaching spots open for 2014, so if you are ready to get moving and live the freedom that the life of your dreams will bring, schedule your 30-minute clarity call below.

Stuck on What you REALLY Want? Try this.

If you don’t know what you want in life, how the world do you think you are supposed to get it???

The first step to creating an amazing life is knowing what that means to you.

In fact, it’s the first thing I ask every person I work with (and something I’ve been asking friends & coworkers for years) only to find more people have no clue what they want in life.

They are either too stuck in reality to even flex their creative muscles a bit or they don’t really believe they can have what they truly want.

But here’s the thing.

Your dream life isn’t going to just appear out of thin air.  You aren’t going to wake up one day to a life you never envisioned, never imagined, and never thought about.

It’s just not how it works.

So let’s figure out what it is you want so you can get moving on making those amazing dreams a reality, shall we?

  1. Know that you can be, have, or do anything you want.  This step is paramount!  When you know that, you unlock the block in your mind that wants you to play safe and think small.
  2. Think about what you wanted as a child. When you were younger you didn’t know there was this thing called reality that had rules and regulations you had to abide by.  You used your imagination effortlessly and came up with some incredible visions, stories, and desires for who you wanted to be when you grew up.  Revisit those thoughts and think about what you wanted to be as a child. Write it down.
  3. Create a love list.  If you are struggling to figure out what you want in your life as a whole it might be helpful to make separate lists for relationships, family, career, fun, etc.  What you are going to do is make a list of all the things you love (or have loved) over the years in each category.  For instance, in career you might put something like ‘using my creativity’ or ‘helping people’.  Be as specific as possible for each list and see what comes up.  Don’t edit or censor what you write down.  This is simply a list of all the things you love so just let it flow.
  4. Brainstorm with others.  Sometimes talking to someone can help you get clear on what it is you want.  The natural flow of a conversation can be helpful as you get feedback from someone else.  This is also a great way to bounce ideas around and to simply verbalize some of the things you are thinking.  Talking it out is one of the amazing benefits of having a coach.  They ask questions you never thought to ask yourself.
  5. Put it all together.  Take a look at some of the things you have written or what came up in your conversations, what themes do you see?  You might find there is a theme in regards to your career or in the relationship department.  Maybe you find ‘freedom’ to be a theme and you want to create your own business.  Maybe creativity is a theme and you want to do something with your art or writing.  Once you find the theme, the rest of the picture appears almost effortlessly.  But, if you still find yourself stuck with what you want in life, take a moment to imagine your perfect day.  What are you doing? Who are you with? What do you see? Where are you?  How much money are you making? How do you spend your time?  Etc.

Once you know what you want to create you can move onto visualizing it and allowing the next step to come to you.  Don’t be hard on yourself if after following steps 1-5 you are still confused about how everything fits together to create the dream life for you.  Just know that it can and will come together for you.

Are you ready to jump start the process and gain clarity around what you want in your life?  If so, schedule your 30-minute consultation and let’s make it happen.  There really is no reason for you to continue to wait for the life of your dreams to simply appear.  You have to know what you want first.  So what are you waiting for?

Gratitude: Patience & Clarity

May 17, 2013 by Lamisha

gratitude

I can’t tell you how happy I am that today is Friday.  This has certainly been one kind of week.  From financial mishaps that I thought were cleared up to even more confusion, I am ready to change my focus a little bit this weekend and relax.

Often when we are in the midst of the proverbial storm, it can be difficult to see beyond the mayhem.  Finding the silver lining in the middle of a chaotic situation can be darn near impossible, yet once the dust has settled a bit we realize there really is a positive side to every seemingly negative situation.

This week I was hit with a bit of a storm.  Not a huge, rock-my-entire-world-kind of storm, but a sort of chaotic-lift-me-out-of-my-comfort-zone kind of storm.  My personal financial mishap that I thought had been fixed, reared its ugly head again.  After a few more calls (hopefully the last calls on this issue) and a lot of patience, I think I have it taken care of.

I learned this week that like many other unexpected situations that arise in life, this particular situation could have caused me major anxiety, frustration, and possibly anger.  But with a little patience and calm thinking, I was able to handle the situation not once, but twice.  And what is even more interesting is the fact that one of the books I am reading in order to review is titled The Power of Patience by M.J. Ryan.  Coincidence?? I think not.

It seems that with each new batch of books I receive for review (books I don’t select myself), they are almost always the exact books I need to read at that moment in my life.  Books that speak to my soul and assist me in whatever I am dealing with at the time.  And since patience is one of the things I am growing everyday, it is so nice to see it go to good use.  Especially over a pretty large mistake.  So for that, I am so grateful and appreciative.

The other thing that hit me this week is the idea of clarity.  When negative things come into our lives or situations arise that are less than desirable, we have an opportunity to be more clear about what we would like instead.  Basically, when you know what you don’t want, you know what you do want.  (Something Michael Losier and Abraham Hicks speak on quite a bit.)  Sounds simple right?  It can be, however we often get so caught up in the thing that we don’t want, that we forget to switch our focus to what we want.

The difficult situations, frustrations, and negative things in our lives provide clarity for our desires.  It is that simple.  So instead of harping on the negative, lets turn our focus to the feelings, circumstances, and situations we want in our lives.  This week was a very good example of me focusing a bit too much on the not wanted instead of focusing on what is wanted and I am grateful for the lesson.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of all the things that bring you joy.

As always, thanks for reading!
