Losing Millions….

April 7, 2017 by Lamisha

I have a confession to make and it’s probably something you might not be able to guess about me, though after I share the whole story, it will make total sense.

My secret guilty pleasure is that I LOVE watching documentaries about where Lottery winners are now.

—> It’s not because I play the lottery, though I do on occasion.
—> It’s not because I want to be up to date with the latest high ticket items to purchase.
—> And it’s not even because I want to use it as a way to envision myself as a millionaire.

Honestly, I watch it because I am incredibly fascinated by the MINDSET behind each winner and how it ties into where they are now.  (I’m a mindset nerd, I know!)

I’ve watched a ton of these shows and what’s amazing is I can see a common thread in all of them as it relates to who still has their money (or even more) and who has squandered it away and is now broke. Can you guess what it is?

It’s all about their growth mindset and upper limit set point.

You see, every one of us has an upper limit set point based on our current mindset.  Based on our past experiences and the mindset work we have done (or not done) we have a certain amount of love, joy, peace, abundance, health, excitement etc. that we can comfortably allow in our lives.

Once we approach that upper limit, our ego gets a bit frightened and feels unsafe.  It immediately wants to bring us back down to our “normal” range, even if what’s been normal for us is incredibly uncomfortable.

Imagine for a moment you want to lose 50 lbs but in reality you only imagine that you can really lose about 25.  As you approach that 25lb marker or a bit beyond that, your ego gets a bit snarky and scared and you find some reason (usually subconsciously) to sabotage your progress to bring you back down to what is “normal” for you.

The same thing happens with money (or anything else for that matter).  The reason many lottery winners go bankrupt after winning millions of dollars is because their mindset didn’t change when they won that money.

Their reality shifted dramatically, but their mindset didn’t and so they had to go back to what was “normal” for them.

It seems a bit crazy, I know, but think back to your life for a moment.

Have you ever noticed that there are times when things are going really good for you, it feels a bit uncomfortable?  Or maybe when things get too good you find yourself sabotaging it in some way, shape, or form and before you know it you are back to where you started?

Maybe it’s with money, weight, relationships, your career, or something else entirely, but no matter what the topic is…the issue is the same.  You’ve hit your upper limit.

So what do you do to make sure you don’t lose your proverbial millions?

It boils down to these three things…

  • Become aware of your upper limit set point
  • Understand your sabotaging behavior when things get too good
  • Actively grow your mindset so as you approach that upper limit, it actually transforms to a new level

Believe me when I say that the upper limit problem that Gay Hendricks discusses in his book The Big Leap is a very real thing.  I’ve experienced it over and over again with each new level I’ve reached in my life and business and understanding how it works and actively working on your mindset is the key to limiting the effects of the ULP in your life.

And you know what?  It’ ALL leads back to MINDSET.

Yes, I know.  I talk about mindset until I’m blue in the face, but I promise it is more important than you know and it is where all your power lies.  It’s also why I decided to put together this FREE 5-Day Mindset Challenge for my tribe starting Monday.

Starting Monday, we are going to help you understand what is going on in that beautiful mind of yours and give you some tools to transform those thoughts so you can continue to grow and expand your life in truly magical ways with or without your upper limit.

#MassiveActionAugust: Are YOU in?

August 3, 2016 by Lamisha

thumbnail_IMG_2126

If you caught my live stream on Friday you know I’m 100% utterly and completely DONE with the excuses.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been basically stuck in the rut of playing, thinking, and LIVING small.

In the name of being ‘busy’, just moving, not really feeling settled, traveling a lot and goodness knows what other excuses I’ve had, I’ve been SO LAZY about my vision.

I’ve been staying up late, sleeping in late, missing my work outs and just generally sabotaging my efforts left, right, and center.  I’ll be honest though, there was a part of me that felt like I was entitled to this indulging behavior because it’s summer and there are a lot of other personal things going on.

But let’s be clear…that too is just an excuse.

Everyday I share my message about the importance of tapping into your power and sticking to your vision and playing BIG and here I am playing small.  Teeny-tiny even!

I’ve not done anything to push my comfort zone limits and have been playing it way too safe.  And you know what?  I could FEEL it!

I had gotten a bit bored with myself.  Aside from my amazing client calls and my work in the Miracle Mindset Immersion program, I found myself feeling a bit blase about life and my business.

With no real energy behind my vision OR inspiration to fuel me forward, I was just kinda boppin’ along in my own world until I got a HUGE message from the Universe on Friday in the form of a podcast interview just ‘randomly’ popping up on my phone. (You know how I feel about coincidences right?)

Well this interview with Lisa Nichols was JUST the message I needed to wake me up from this weird fuzzy in-between space I’ve been living in for the past few weeks.

It helped me realize I’ve not only been playing way too small in terms of my message, my passion, and my purpose, but also that I’ve been making a shit-ton of excuses like:

  • I’m too busy. (Bullshit)
  • I’m too tired. (Go to bed earlier.)
  • I’m not sure what to do (Bullshit)
  • I’m not ready (So what?)
  • I’m confused (Bullshit)
  • I might fail! (You also might succeed!)
  • Oh but this is way more important…(Also bullshit)

Blah, blah, blah.

Now I am definitely not a hustler by any stretch of the imagination and I truly prefer to create from a space of flow as opposed to working 20 hour days, but the past few weeks have been just plain ridiculous.

I’m been playing it safe because…it’s comfortable? It’s easier? It meant I could binge on Netflix for more hours a day? (My guilty pleasure for sure!)

I’m not entirely sure the root cause, but what I can tell you is that I’m DONE.

You see, when I give up on myself and play (as Lisa Nichols put it) hopscotch with my comfort zone- in and back out, in and back out, I’m not only letting myself down, but I’m also letting YOU down.

I’m hiding my gift, my message, my vision, and I’m not helping nearly as many people as I know I am meant to help.  So for that I apologize.

So…as we enter this new month (also my birth month-woohoo!) I am making a new commitment to YOU and to myself.

I’ve decided that this month is all about the massive action!  #MassiveActionAugust if you will.

Starting TODAY I am setting the intention to show up and consciously, consistently, and continuously stretch myself outside of my comfort zone on a DAILY basis and I’m inviting you to join me.

It’s time to shake things up and get the energy and flow going again before we enter into the last quarter of 2016!  So, if you’re not willing to give up on the idea of making 2016 the best year yet for you and you are ready to SHOW UP for yourself…let’s do this!

I want you to take MASSIVE ACTION beginning today.  Actions that kick you out of your comfort zone, shake you up, and set you up for amazing success.  You don’t have to know what you will do each day, just go with your intuition and share it on Facebook with the hashtag #MassiveActionAugust so I can see what you all are up to.

I’m not allowing the bullshit excuses to stop me anymore.  My purpose, vision, and desires are too important and so are YOURS!

So what do you say?  Let’s make #MassiveActionAugust blow up!!

If you’re in hit ‘reply’ and give me a HELL YEAH and share with me your first massive action!

And of course, if you’ve been thinking, tinkering, and toying with the idea of working with me let this be the day you take MASSIVE ACTION and schedule your consultation to see if we are a good fit.

P.S. To follow along with me and my own massive actions, hop on over to Facebook and make sure you are part of my tribe there!

Announcing: Resolution Refresh, A 7-Day Challenge

September 1, 2014 by Lamisha

b e a c h  p a r t y(1)

Oh my, time flies when you’re having fun huh?  It’s September already and I’m curious how many of you have actually looked at your New Years Resolutions/Intentions since say February or March?

If you are like many people, you probably haven’t taken a proper look to see where you stand as far as your goals are concerned.  Today I am inviting you to take a look and see how far you have come.

I’ll wait….

You’re back? Awesome! So, how did it go?

Were you surprised to find a few of your items ticked of your list?  (Congrats!)

How about the items you haven’t gotten to yet?  If you are like most people the things that are still unfinished are likely outweighing the things that you have accomplished from your list.  That’s totally normal.

Don’t panic, I know we only have 4 months left in the year, but that is a TON of time to make some major progress on the things that are truly aligned with what you want and who you are.

And lucky for you aside from being the Blind Spot Expert, I am also really action-oriented and pretty kick-ass with accountability (if I do say so myself.)

So, here’s the deal.  I have created a 7-Day Challenge to help get your rear in gear.  And I know you have seen a million ‘challenges’ where you get emails everyday with action items and at about day 3 you begin deleting the emails.  (I have done the same thing.) But, this challenge is a bit different.

While I will be sending you emails everyday with action items, each email is meant to help you really determine what is most important to you and to guide you to the next step using the very powerful and amazing wisdom within…your intuition.

So, in reality this is more than just a ‘get shit done’ kind of challenge.  It’s all about alignment, listening, releasing, and taking the next step to make magical things happen in your life…by the end of the year.

Sound good?

The challenge officially begins September 8th, however registration will remain open until September 15th for those of you who decide to hop on the Resolution Refresh train a bit later.

And since you will be so graciously allowing me into your very sacred mailbox, I promise to keep the emails short, sweet, and to the point so you can get to the very powerful action items easily. Deal?

Sign-up for the Resolution Refresh Challenge and watch the rest of your year transform in some truly amazing ways.

I want you to know that I am doing this challenge along with you and will be sharing my insights on Facebook and Twitter and I encourage you to join me using #ResolutionRefresh so we can keep up with your amazing progress.  I am super excited to dig into my 2014 goals to see how far I have come and to realign my inentions for the rest of the year.

Let’s end the year with a bang shall we?

Big love to you all!

Meditation Challenge: Update

March 25, 2013 by Lamisha

I would love to be able to begin this post with a celebration for Day #83 of my consecutive 100 day mediation challenge, however I cannot.  I not only missed one day somewhere in the first 50 days of meditation, but this past weekend I missed about 3 more.  (Insert disappointed face here.)

While there is a part of me that is slightly disappointed that I missed so many days in a row, a larger part of me is proud for only missing a total of 4 days in the 83 that I have been practicing.  I recognize that to be a mighty accomplishment for myself.  Especially since I wanted to start a meditation practice for many years and could never stick to it.  Now I know I can and despite my disappointment for missing so many days, I have learned a great deal about myself and my practice.

I have learned:

  • The type of meditation I do depends on my mood.  Sometimes I like guided meditations, while other times I do my own to music or in complete silence.  None of them is the right way or better than the other.  I simply listen to what I need in the moment and proceed with what feels right for me.
  • The ideal amount of time for me on a daily basis is about 15-20 minutes in one sitting and it feels really great to do a morning and evening meditation.
  • My patience for the ups and downs of everyday life is much better when I have meditated on that particular day and I feel a more calm sense of peace after I meditate.
  • I am definitely more optimistic and positive in the moment and spend much less time focusing on what hasn’t yet materialized in my future.  It is true that meditation is a mindful practice for the moment, at least for me.
  • Meditation has become a habit for me, not just a ritual or a challenge.  It is a habit I have wanted to create for many years, but never thought I had the time or the focus to do it, and now I have.

With that said I realize missing 4 days of meditating is not the end of the world and while I may not have made it to the 100 consecutive days of meditating like I wanted in the beginning, I have learned a lot in the process not only about meditation in general, but how it applies to my life and my practice.

I have also decided to begin a new 100 day meditation challenge (officially starting April 1st for ease of calculating days), but this time the motivation for the challenge is to simply reap the benefits of meditation on a daily basis while reaching (and surpassing) my goal of 100 days.  Much like healthy eating and exercising, meditation is a daily practice meant to be a lifestyle change, not something you do only when you feel frazzled.  So with that ultimate purpose in mind I will begin again.

Not meeting a goal doesn’t automatically mean failure, sometimes it is just a reminder to take a moment to reset and begin again.

What are you hitting the “reset” button for today?
