Permission to want what you want…granted!

February 22, 2018 by Lamisha

Inspired by one of my recent client calls, this message is for anyone doubting their desires.

Is this a REAL desire?

Can I really HAVE this?

Is this legitimate?

Here’s your answer…

For more information about how you can nip those doubts in the bud and build a belief system for yourself that works for your desires, check out the ways I am currently working with clients HERE.

When was the last time you DOUBT-ed yourself?

February 19, 2018 by Lamisha

One thing you must know about me is that I am a bit of a nerd when it comes to exploring the mindset of successful athletes, actors, musicians, and the like.

Since I’ve started really focusing my work around mindset, I’ve “stumbled” upon a ton of interviews and stories about various celebrities and ordinary (but massively successful and happy) people and how they cultivated a mindset that led them to where they are today.  The most recent came when I was watching the pre-game show for the Super Bowl a few weeks ago.

As they interviewed Tom Brady (quarterback for New England Patriots and also 5 time Super Bowl winner) they asked him a really interesting question:

When was the last time you doubted yourself?

While trying to remain humble and still honest he paused before saying something to the effect of:

“It’s been awhile.”

I was struck by his power and belief within himself.  Sure, he’s had 5 Super Bowl wins and countless amazing seasons to solidify his belief within himself, but it’s something that really struck me as interesting.  It seems as though having unshakeable belief within himself is a non-negotiable.

I suppose when you reach that level in your career, there really is no room for doubt, but it had me thinking…when was the last time I doubted myself?

(If I’m honest, it’s probably last week when I was doubting myself in a situation with my son.)

As I continued to watch the pre-game show, they turned to the Philadelphia Eagles quarter back Nick Foles.  What they shared about his story was both inspiring and enlightening, particularly as it applies to mindset.

In his last off season, Nick Foles was thinking of retiring from football altogether, possibly filled with a ton of personal doubt and fear of what was to come.  After a trip with is brother in law, he decided to continue his career, at least for a little while.

Little did he know, that decision to continue would change his life forever resulting in an opportunity for him to play a key role in his team’s road to the playoffs when he took over after the regular quarterback was injured.  Fast forward to Sunday’s Super Bowl game and well…he won agains all odds.

So, why am I talking about football?

I’m sharing this with you because these two athletes have very different stories, careers, and lives and yet they are both successful in their own rite.

One has built up his mindset in such a way that he doesn’t even allow his mind to dive into doubt while the other beat all odds after he almost walked away.

Mindset is everything, everything, everything and no matter who you are or what you want to do, believing in yourself and trying again (and again and again in some cases) is KEY.

The thing I want you to understand is that we are all human.

Doubt, fear, and frustration creep in from time-to-time and when life happens, it often throws us for a loop.

Sometimes WE are the underdog in our pursuits as “reality” tells us how low our chances are for success, but all of that means NOTHING if/when YOU want it and build up a mindset for success.

–> YOU have the power to change the thing that changes everything else…how you think.

–> YOU get to decide to keep moving forward or to throw in the towel…when you want it bad enough.

–> YOU get to believe in yourself when no one else does…because your soul knows what you were meant for.

I’m not saying it’s always easy.

I am saying that through the ups and downs, ins and outs, highs and lows, and all the emotions in between, when you taste victory —> nothing is sweeter.

And the best part about it is you don’t have to wait until you get “there” to feel that sense of joy, relief and bliss.

When you do the mind work, you will not only FEEL stronger, but you will begin seeing signs, synchronicities, and magic along the way that will remind you to just keep going.  Those small wins on your way to the big game are just as sweet and will continue to build your mindset to Level Unshakeable.

So let me ask you this…

When was the last time you doubted yourself?

AND

What did you do about it?

Start looking at your doubt patterns and reverse engineer your mindset practice to nip them in the bud before they begin.  You’d be surprised at how quickly you can transform doubt into confidence with a shift of your thoughts.

And whether you resonate more with Tom Brady and his unshakable belief or with Nick Foles who thought of walking away (or somewhere in between), I believe in you and KNOW that you are capable of all that you desire.

Believe me when I say your Super Bowl (or the equivalent) is coming and the speed with which it shows up is determined by how and what you think.

Consider this your CALL TO ACTION.

I KNOW if you are reading this, there is a very powerful message here for you.

Maybe you’ve been doubting yourself lately and you’re not 100% sure what to do about it.

Maybe you’ve been feeling a bit lost lately and you’re aching for some support to help set you free.

Maybe you are finally READY to dive into the deep work that will reveal more power, potential, and infinite possibilities in your life than ever before.

Who do you think you are???

February 12, 2018 by Lamisha

Last week, as I was listening to the radio on the way to school drop off for my son, one of our favorite songs came on.  As my son is playing air guitar and drumming to the beat in the backseat, one line in the song jumped out at me and has been playing in my head ever since.

“Who do you think you are?
Dreaming ’bout being a big star”
Thunder by Imagine Dragons

Part of the reason it hit me is because in that moment I was having a “Who do you think you are?!” mindset moment.

You know the kind I’m talking about.  The kind where you have massive desires and dreams and your ego tries to pull you back to “reality” where it’s safe and at the same time stifling for that freedom-chaser like you.

At that particular moment, I was still feeling the amazing energy you typically have early in the year where you feel like anything is possible.  I was thinking, dreaming, and scheming for some pretty massive things I plan on doing this year (more on that soon) and my ego was really uncomfortable.

The song came on at the perfect time because not only had it highlighted the very belief that could limit me, but it also highlighted the infinite possibilities of what can be.

You see, if you go further into the song, the lyrics say…

“You say you’re basic, you say you’re easy
You’re always riding in the back seat
Now I’m smiling from the stage while
You were clapping in the nose bleeds”

Which in my mind is a perfect confirmation that no matter what anyone says, you can still make it BIG.

If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know I am a BIG believer in signs and synchronicities and I’ve gotten some pretty amazing signs that I’m on the right path the past few weeks.  Lots of really exciting things are unfolding so far for 2018 and yet, I still had this moment where I was doubting my potential.

Can I really do it?
Who am I to want this?
Why can’t I just be happy with what is?
Why do I want/need more?

But…despite the fears, worry, and gremlins that were threatening to take over my mind, I still couldn’t shake the desires that have been bubbling up the past few weeks.  Try as they might, those gremlins had nothing on the desires within my heart.

Now, I know I’m not alone in this which is why I’m sharing with you.

Too often, I hear women saying the very thing holding them back in their journey is that voice in their head that says …

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

Often followed by all the reasons they should just settle for less than they desire.  Surely their lives are “ok” right now, so why push for more?  Some go so far as to feel unworthy or incapable of doing the BIG things they’ve set out for themselves.  Feeling slightly (or incredibly) selfish, they strive to shrink their desires and simply stay where they are because in some ways it’s easier.

But, you know what’s actually NOT easy?

–> Living a life questioning all the if, ands, or buts about why you didn’t do what you wanted.

–>Living a life of regret while sitting in your rocking chair pondering your should’ve, could’ve, would’ve-s.

–>Living a mediocre life because you were too afraid of what other people might think of you if you truly went for it unapologetically.

I don’t know about you but I want it ALL.

• I want all the love, peace and joy life has to offer.
• I want all the adventures and once in a lifetime experiences that I can collect.
• I want to serve, support, and make a meaningful impact in the world.
• I want to build a legacy with my work and leave the world a better place than I found it.

And you know what…I’ll be damned if I allow some BS belief in my mind about what other people might think of me or the fact that I may fail, stop me from striving for all of the above and more.

If there is anything I’ve learned in this work I am doing it is this…

Who you THINK you are is exactly who you end up becoming.

So, let me ask you this…Who do you THINK you are? Or better yet, who are you committed to becoming?

AND are your daily actions in alignment with that version of yourself you are becoming?

–>Are you taking risks for what you want and stretching yourself to the edge of your comfort zone to create the life you love or are you settling?

–>Are you opening willing to get uncomfortable temporarily in order to expand and evolve, or are you clinging to what is simply because it is comfortable?

–>Are you seeing through your current reality in order to create a bigger, bolder life vision or are you simply reacting to what’s in front of you and getting stuck in a cycle of sameness?

The choice is yours.

Whether you dream of being a rockstar, writer, actor extraordinaire, or you have your sights on being an amazing activist, business owner, or mother—> who you THINK you are holds the key to who you become.

In fact, this article from one of my amazing clients (she gave me permission to share) hits the nail on the head.

YOU are so much more than you appear to be and have the potential to become whomever you choose. It’s all about perspective.

So…who do you think you are?
P.S.  If you aren’t in love with how life is unfolding for you currently and you are looking to THINK differently and you want support, book a free 30-minute consultation HERE and let’s see if we are a good fit to work together.

The “problem” is never the problem…

January 26, 2018 by Lamisha

When life feels stagnant, it’s important to know that the “problem” is never the problem…

The last few days I’ve been feeling particularly drained and a bit under the weather.

My head feels like it weighs 1000lbs and I am literally blowing my nose every 5 minutes. It seems I’ve picked up some of the germs my wife had last week despite my best efforts to stay germ-free.

As I’ve been snuggling in bed between client calls, I started thinking about the various symptoms I’m struggling with and realized they are a metaphor for the very things I teach.

You see, when you go to the doctor for a cough or sore throat, you find out that it’s not actually just a sore throat you are dealing with. In fact, the sore throat is nothing more than a symptom of something bigger that is causing the sore throat.

—>Your sore throat is simply just the messenger. <–

So, how does this apply to the work I do? (I’m so glad you asked.)

When I meet with a client for the first time, they share with me some of the struggles they are dealing with.

Instead of a cough or a sore throat they might say they are:

❌Feeling lost and frustrated with life
❌Feeling confused about what they want
❌Stuck in their lives and don’t know what to do
❌Procrastinating with their goals and dreams
❌Struggling to manifest what they know they desire

And like a doctor, I do a bit more digging to find that those are all just symptoms of a bigger issue, usually something my clients can’t see for themselves.

Sometimes, they are dealing with specific fears and beliefs around their ability to make the changes they want to see in their lives.

Other times they are struggling with stepping outside of the stories they learned growing up about money, love, work, etc. in order to create the life experience they choose.

What I find happens more often than not is that they struggle immensely with stepping outside of their current reality (the lack of money, love, frustration, weight on the scale) enough in order to make the appropriate changes.

The problem (aka your current reality) is so REAL and appealing.

You can see it, feel it, and you experience it every single day and by definition it is real. And if you are like most people, if you don’t like the current reality, you go to work trying to fix it.

You put your thinking cap on and work on making more money, putting yourself out there more, hopping on the treadmill 3 times a week etc.

But, what happens when no matter what you do, the “problem” doesn’t change?

PSA: The “problem” is never the problem.

The problem is just the messenger.
The problem is just the symptom.

The problem is just your inner being making you uncomfortable enough to hopefully DO something differently.

–> When I was struggling with money, it wasn’t the money that was the problem, it was what I BELIEVED about it that was the problem.

–> When I hated my job and felt stuck and frustrated, it wasn’t the job that was the issue, it’s what I BELIEVED about my ability to create true freedom that was the issue.

–> And every single time I found myself procrastinating or sabotaging myself in my life, relationships, and sometimes in my business, it was always because of what I BELIEVED about myself that was the issue.

Mindset is EVERYTHING when it comes to ANYTHING.

So, how is your mindset going these days?

If you’re finding yourself stumbling over the same mental roadblocks you did last year, then it’s time you did something different.

What’s your belief factor?

January 17, 2018 by Lamisha

Over the long weekend, I’ve been thinking about the concept of “belief” and a question that I started asking myself last year that made all the difference in how I think.

What would it take?

As in…

What would it take for me to believe in myself?
What would it take for me to feel the fear and do it anyway?
What would it take for me to always have more than enough money for the next 50-60 years?

What would it take for me to have unconditional trust in my journey?

(Ohhh…that last one is a doozy!)

This question isn’t one you are meant to answer yourself, but it is one that will inspire you and is guaranteed to open you up to more opportunities, ideas, and insights delivered to you straight from the Universe.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve asked this question (and let it go) I’ve received some sort of confirmation that everything is indeed working out for me and a physical manifestation and sign that the Universe has my back. And I get chills every single time.

The reason I’m sharing this with you today is two-fold.

First…for those of you who tend to get stuck in the “how”, this question is going to make a HUGE difference in your life, if you can ask it and let it go.

Second…I want to get you thinking about the power that comes from BELIEVING in YOURSELF.

For the bulk of 2017, my faith in the journey and in myself came and went. I was dealing with some unique challenges as a mother, wife, and business owner and my faith wobbled…a LOT. I had breakdowns, fits of crying and a shit ton of fear and I found that it mostly came from my lack of belief in myself.

It all felt like too much.

I felt like I just wasn’t strong enough.

I was afraid I couldn’t do it.

And yet, my desires couldn’t be swayed. I still had goals to crush, desires to fulfill, and amazing women to support and that meant I had to bolster the confidence in myself.

So, I asked “What would it take for me to believe in myself unconditionally, no matter WHAT challenges I face?”

And then, I got to work on my mindset. I began facing and clearing the specific beliefs that had me feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and not enough and replacing them with empowering thoughts that I CAN do anything.

The truth is you can too. But, you need more than me just telling you that. YOU need to have the belief in yourself too.

So, what would it take for YOU to have unshakeable belief in yourself that you CAN and WILL achieve all that you desire?

What would it take?

Are you waiting on some sort of external evidence to prove that you CAN?

Are you searching for someone else to prove it to you?

Are you hoping that one day it will all just disappear and you’ll believe more fully in yourself?

I can tell you with full confidence that if you are waiting for one of the above, you’ll be waiting a LONG time.

Belief in yourself comes first THEN the evidence follows. That’s just how it works friends.

It’s also no wonder than when I ran a quick survey in the MindPower Collective group at the beginning of the month that the #1 thing people want/need support with in terms of mindset is BELIEVING in their PERSONAL POWER.

So, let me ask you this: How much do you believe in YOUR power to create the money, love, career, relationships, passion, body, health, etc. in your life?

You see, MOST people believe that “anything is possible” in the general sense, but when it comes to “anything is possible for ME” things get a bit sticky.

So, I’m curious, on a scale of 1-10 where does the belief in your personal power lie? (I really want to know so drop your number in the comments below.)

The truth is, you can be, have, and do whatever you want to do in this life, but if you don’t BELIEVE in yourself and your personal power to achieve it all, well then…you won’t.

If believing in yourself is where you struggle the most (and let’s be honest, if you struggle with money, love, health, wealth etc. then you likely have a belief that somehow it’s just not meant for you), stay tuned because I’ve got something up my sleeve that you are going to want to be apart of. (If you want first dibs…sign up for my email list here as I’ll be sharing the details there asap.

Until then, I want to know where your personal power and belief lies on a scale of 1-10. Post your number below  and then I want you to play with the “what would it take” statement and see what unfolds for you. I promise you will be amazed.
