This month is sure to be jam-packed full of exciting new things.  Not only am I offering my new individual packages, but I am also expanding a bit.  Beginning in June I will be offering a group coaching program for business owners or business-minded individuals (artists, writers, etc.) who are looking for some support, community, and coaching to help expand their biz and break through some of the blocks that come up with being a business owner.

I will be sharing more info about what this coaching program entails and all the awesome goodies you will get with it next week, but first I want you to know how/why I came up with this idea.

Anyone that has worked with me knows that I am not a business coach per se.  I don’t teach you how to set up a biz, select your niche, market your work etc. and at times find some of that to be a bit foreign to me, however I do work with a ton of business-minded women and business owners to clear their beliefs, follow their intuition, and take their businesses to the next level by challenging them to grow and evolve.  I hold my clients accountable for the action items we come up with and lovingly push them to move beyond what they think they can do.

Typically the number 1 thing holding people back is fear which we all know comes in various shapes, sizes, and disguises.  

So, I decided it was time to get my business-minded women together and offer a support system and coaching opportunity to clear out the icky, negative, limiting beliefs that hold us back to uncover the real, true, intuitive and magnificently abundant beauties that we are!  And this 3-month group coaching offer is going to help you with that, but we won’t stop there!

We are also going to discuss some of the practical things that come up in the business world like: What do I do when I have a million ideas and can’t seem to move on ANY of them?  or  What about pricing my services/talents/artwork? or How can I increase the flow of clients/money/customers to my business? (I’ll give you a hint: energetic marketing.)

Did I also mention I am offering a refund option for the first month of the program? If after paying for the first month of this coaching program, you do not see the value in it AND you have completed the practices/exercises we will go over in the program, I will happily refund you what you paid for the first month.  THAT is how certain I am that you will love this.

I believe that when you get a group of like-minded, driven, and passionate women together, magic happens.  Community, collaboration, and friendships are born and that is what I envision for this program.  Because I am only taking 20 people for this 3-month coaching journey and I am offering the refund option for the first month, I am not just taking anyone.

You see, I want all of the participants to be ready and willing to let go of the old baggage and beliefs that are holding them back so they can move forward with ease and grace, so this isn’t going to be a program you can simply buy into.  I will be holding 30-min individual intake calls to everyone who is interested in this program to ask a few questions, to get to know you better, and to evaluate if this is a good program for you.  My purpose here is not to simply fill my program, but instead to provide a quality, high-value experience for up to 20 women who will benefit greatly from it.  If that means we stop at 10 enrollees then so be it.

Dream Changer-Featuring Petra Monaco

***Happy Hump Day Dreamers! It’s Wednesday and it is time for another wonderful Dream Changer post!  This week I am excited to share with you a woman who has overcome great obstacles in life to find her true calling and as we all know life’s path is rarely a straight line and many times a topsy turvy wonderful world of lessons, growth, and evolution and Petra Monaco’s story is amazing.  She is doing wonderful work in the world and I know you will enjoy her story.  Take it away Petra!***

It’s hard for me to pinpoint exactly what moment in my life directly led me to this path because in the big picture of it all it all relates in some way.

I grew up in Germany in foster homes since the age of two until I graduated high school at the age of 15. Throughout the years I was exposed to trauma and abuse, neglect, rejection, unable to believe in myself and looking for love in all the wrong places. During all my struggles of trying to find out who I am, I never quit. I was pregnant with my first born at 17, engaged to an American, who I would not marry until later. I moved cross the ocean to find a different life and was left to continue to figure it all out on my own. I married the father of my son and a few years later, we had another child together. We would not work out however due to move beyond our parens dysfunction, but we are friends nonetheless.

Life still wasn’t easy and I continued to move forward believing there is something out there but never quite finding what I needed. I singled parented for awhile, remarried my husband just to once again learn that this is not working out for us. I earned a degree in accounting with the potential of making good money but I was unable to be satisfied or feel happy about it. I wanted more. I loved psychology, I loved learning about the FBI and toyed with the idea of becoming a profiler. But it still did not sit with me.

I learned about life coaching from a television show and thought to myself, now that …that looks interesting.

I began to find solace in my creations and crochet and wood burned whenever I could. I started my first business Hippie’s Creations. I find it therapeutic to create with fibers or burn on wood. It’s been my tool towards healing where I look within, analyze my situations and figure out a way to move forward.

In my 30’s I gave birth to my fourth child who at the age of four was diagnosed with a rare metabolic genetic disorder. I think that this ultimately tipped me over to follow my dreams and pursue what I wanted out of life. But it appeared I was not ready to acknowledge what I wanted and had a few more things to learn. I opened a brick and mortar store but closed it a year later still not feeling good about life. I left a relationship that did me more harm than good and my growth was huge.

I wrote a book about what I remembered of my life which helped me move forward, create boundaries, and live a much healthier life. I still have some work to do but I am enjoying the path I have taken.

In 2010 I started working as an intensive in-home counselor and I LOVED my work. I am still with the same company and continue to help children figure it all out providing them with therapy as they need. But as a mom with a child who has disabilities and remembering the life coaching show I started to explore it more.

I am in the process of writing a book, sharing my son’s inspirational story of survival and his incredible will to live. I have also started Fostered Life, in which I help individuals find the time to balance work, family and live the life they have envisioned. I am offering pro bono coaching sessions to foster children who are aging out and need a little help reaching their goals!

Transformation, Growth, & Group Coaching for YOU!

If you would have told me 5 or 10 years ago that I would be a business owner with no other full-time income other than my business, I certainly wouldn’t have believed you.  I never really wanted or thought about being my own boss as much as I really wanted to love what I do and have the freedom and flexibility in my life to do more of what I love.  Seems obvious that being my own boss would provide all of that, but I didn’t put the two together until I realized life coaching was my calling.

Since then, I have found this path to be one of the most amazing and life transforming experiences.  I have learned (and continue to learn) a ton about myself, my life, my preferences, and how I work best.  I am learning to let go of the old story of success and what that means in traditional society and am stepping into my power more and more every day.  I am reaching beyond my previously set boundaries and am expanding my reach, my knowledge, and my faith in the Universe that all things are working out exactly as they are meant to.

I am also stepping into a bit of a new direction business wise that is causing me to learn, grow, and evolve even more quickly.  It’s a process and a journey that I wouldn’t give up for the world and I am so grateful for the opportunity to stand in my power helping other business owners and freedom-seekers do the same.

What is a freedom-seeker you ask?

Simply put, it is a person who desires to walk their own path and find (and live) their true calling.  They wish to do what they love, stand in that power, and live the life of their dreams…as they see fit.  Whether it’s a mansion by the beach or a life of travel, they want to create a life that allows them to do as they please.  They want to grow, learn, evolve, and become more of who they are and be comfortable and confident in themselves.  These are people who are similar to the ‘purple people‘ in that they feel the call to follow their inspiration and intuition as opposed to logic and reality.  Crystal Davis (an amazing, talented, and very creative woman and friend) owner of Poetic Empire posted on Facebook yesterday that “Reality is irrelevant.”(I love that quote!) and freedom-seekers know this on some level and the more they live it, the more they feel their calling and truth.

These are the people I know I am meant to work with because I am one of them.  I am proud to say I had the courage to step out on faith and step into my calling, my purpose, and my passion.  I have learned a lot on this path and my hope is that I can pass a bit of that knowledge to others who are doing the same.

5 Indications You Should Hire A Life Coach

I love working with courageous, amazing, freedom-seekers and dreamers who know that life is meant to be wonderful and who are ready to take their life to the next level.  There are times when I get the feeling that some people aren’t quite sure when is the time to hire a coach, so I put together a list of 5 sure-fire ways to know you are ready to hire a life coach.

 

  1. You just feel stuck.-I have heard this from just about every client I have worked with.  They are trying to get their business, dream, or life to the next level and they feel like they are chasing their tail.  Stuck in a rut, in the mud, or walking in circles, these souls have thrown their hands up and yelled ‘I can’t do it alone’.  Lucky for them, they don’t have to and you don’t either!
  2. You feel scattered. – Some of my more creative souls that I coach often come to be because they have so many wonderful ideas, they just can’t seem to figure out where to begin.  They get so ‘busy’ moving from one thing to another that they don’t make much progress on any one thing. Blissful Breakthroughs & My Truth

The other day I had a personal breakthrough and ‘aha’ moment that resulted in me writing the post below on Facebook with a promise to write a full post on what it really means today.

“I know now more than any other time in my life it is imperative for you to live the most authentic life possible. BE you, EMBRACE who you are, LOVE yourself for ALL that you are, and above all else, be true to you. Don’t be afraid of what others might think or feel or believe about you. It’s not their life, it’s yours. Live it, love it, and encourage others to do the same!”

Part of the work I do involves not only getting to know many clients on a very personal level, but it also forces me to take stock in who I truly am.  It allows me to learn, grow, and evolve with each interaction and the most recent evolution has led me to share with you a bit more about who I am.

When I began my business, I thought I had to be ‘business-like’.  I compared myself to others and attempted to some degree to emulate their practices and systems.  I wanted to be successful and since I was new to the business/coaching game, I opened myself up to learn as much as I could.  Even while I was telling my clients to create their own paths and forge ahead fearlessly without having the path laid before them, I was looking in the wrong places for mine.  I was walking in circles avoiding the one true path that was my own, the path I am sharing with you now for fear it would scare people away.  I thought that by sharing my true essence I would scare away potential clients, business partners, and friends that have known me for years.

So what is all this about?  What is the my true essence and who is Lamisha Serf?

I am a freedom seeker, lover of life, and a sharer of light and love.  I believe we are all meant to have a blissful experience while we are alive and part of that means finding our true calling, purpose, and passion.  Life is about growing, evolving, and stepping into our true power, not just physically but spiritually too and before I lose some of you, I am not necessarily talking religiously.

If you were to categorize me you might categorize me as a hippy, hippy-dippy, or a bit woo-woo and as a dear friend so eloquently put it the other day, “Call it woo-woo if you simply like to call spiritual things woo-woo. But if you call it woo-woo because you think it’s weird, I suggest finding a new term. That’s mis-using woo-woo!”-Torrie Pattillo of Holistic Voyage

I use woo-woo as a positive thing meaning all things spiritual.  I meditate, use crystals, read books about metaphysics, psychics, and so much more.  I pray to the Divine, use affirmations, study the Law of Attraction, set my intentions, and practice gratitude.  I have friends and clients who are holistic coaches, intuitive healers, Reiki practitioners, and Angel readers and I love it all!  I am fascinated by the Akashic Records, by who I might have been in my past life, and how the body handles energy of all sorts.  I read about chakras, have mine balanced, believe in magic, miracles, astrology, and the beautiful cycles of the moon.  I am fully aware of what happens during Mercury Retrograde and take special notice of my thoughts when I notice the numbers 11:11 on the clock.

I read all the time.  Books on self-development, connecting with my intuition, communicating with loved ones on the other side, and any of the other many New Age subjects can be found on my bookshelf at any given moment.

I love learning, connecting, and helping people break through the blocks that keep them playing small because for far too long, I have done the same.  I have allowed my fears of what others might think, my anxiety of who I might lose, and my stress of what lies on the other side of this Truth to hold me back for too long and now I am stepping forward.  Proudly.

So what does all of this mean?

It means that there are some things that are going to change around here…with love.  I am going to be my true, authentic self and stop hiding the hippy-dippy, woo-woo, tree-huggin’ hippy that I am.  You might be reading things with a spiritual twist and if it resonates with you, awesome, if not, no worries.

It also means my work, coaching, and pricing structures are going to change a bit.  You see coaching is not just about helping you get from point A to point B…in fact most coaching isn’t about that at all.  Many coaches work on a very intimate level helping clients delve into the dark areas they would rather keep hidden from others (and themselves).

It is in these places that healing, reflection, and growth are needed the most and while I have done a bit of that work in my last year of coaching, I have found it to be my sweet spot.  I get the most fulfillment out of coaching by creating loving accountability for my clients who are ready and willing to dive into the emotional centers of their souls that house the blockages that keep them from moving forward. I get excited when I can celebrate blissful breakthroughs with women as they open up to their true and authentic selves that shed amazing, illuminating light on their path forward.  Through the blockages and breakthroughs I act as a guide and provide the safe space for women to share their deepest dreams and desires while unlocking their fullest potential that many didn’t even know they had.
