If you would have told me 5 or 10 years ago that I would be a business owner with no other full-time income other than my business, I certainly wouldn’t have believed you.  I never really wanted or thought about being my own boss as much as I really wanted to love what I do and have the freedom and flexibility in my life to do more of what I love.  Seems obvious that being my own boss would provide all of that, but I didn’t put the two together until I realized life coaching was my calling.

Since then, I have found this path to be one of the most amazing and life transforming experiences.  I have learned (and continue to learn) a ton about myself, my life, my preferences, and how I work best.  I am learning to let go of the old story of success and what that means in traditional society and am stepping into my power more and more every day.  I am reaching beyond my previously set boundaries and am expanding my reach, my knowledge, and my faith in the Universe that all things are working out exactly as they are meant to.

I am also stepping into a bit of a new direction business wise that is causing me to learn, grow, and evolve even more quickly.  It’s a process and a journey that I wouldn’t give up for the world and I am so grateful for the opportunity to stand in my power helping other business owners and freedom-seekers do the same.

What is a freedom-seeker you ask?

Simply put, it is a person who desires to walk their own path and find (and live) their true calling.  They wish to do what they love, stand in that power, and live the life of their dreams…as they see fit.  Whether it’s a mansion by the beach or a life of travel, they want to create a life that allows them to do as they please.  They want to grow, learn, evolve, and become more of who they are and be comfortable and confident in themselves.  These are people who are similar to the ‘purple people‘ in that they feel the call to follow their inspiration and intuition as opposed to logic and reality.  Crystal Davis (an amazing, talented, and very creative woman and friend) owner of Poetic Empire posted on Facebook yesterday that “Reality is irrelevant.”(I love that quote!) and freedom-seekers know this on some level and the more they live it, the more they feel their calling and truth.

These are the people I know I am meant to work with because I am one of them.  I am proud to say I had the courage to step out on faith and step into my calling, my purpose, and my passion.  I have learned a lot on this path and my hope is that I can pass a bit of that knowledge to others who are doing the same.

That is why I have created a program specifically for heart-centered business owners (and soon to be business owners) that are doing work they love.  This 3-month group coaching program(beginning in June) provides you the coaching, support, community, and practical tips to break through the blocks and barriers you may be experiencing in your business life.  It will help you grow stronger in your confidence for your craft, provide tools for dealing with fear, self-sabotage, abundance issues, address self-care and anything else holding you back.  This is an opportunity for 20 people to connect, commune, and grow together with a common goal to stand more fully in their power, passion, and purpose.

I will be providing more information about how to get signed up for this program and the nitty-gritty details about what it entails in the next week or so.  So, if you are looking to get your business started or are looking to expand, grow, and stand more fully in your purpose and this is something that you want to take advantage of, please sign-up for my VIP List today so you don’t miss any of the details and deadlines to sign up.  I know that this program is going to bring like minds and hearts together to create powerful change and collaborations that will make your business flourish, so if your heart is telling you to sign up, respond to the call and don’t miss this amazing opportunity to grow, evolve, and become the free-flowing business owner I know you can be!

May you all have a magnificently magical Monday!

P.S. Don’t forget Friday is the last day to contact me if you are interested in individual coaching sessions at my current rate for a period of 2 months.  That is 4 individual sessions for $300 which is an amazing value!  If you are interested please contact me to get your 30-minute consultation scheduled as soon as possible.  Remember, you must contact me by Friday in order to be eligible for this limited-time offer.  Rates are doubling on Saturday May 3rd.

The Ever-Evolving Dream=No Wrong Choices

April 7, 2014 by Lamisha

wrongchoices

It seems the world we live in today involves a ton of black/white issues.

Right vs Wrong

Good vs Bad

Yes vs No

This vs That

There is judgement in every seemingly wrong choice we make and the more we analyze our choices so we won’t make the ‘wrong’ choice, we paralyze ourselves from choosing at all.

Is it just me?

I have lived for far too long trying to make the best choices in all areas of my life that often times result in a ton of stress, strife, and guilt wondering if whatever choice I finally decided on was the right one.

It’s exhausting, draining, and just down right a waste of time.

Lucky for me, I am learning this lesson as I put it more into practice.

The truth of life is there are no wrong choices, in anything.  There are simply choices that will lead you down one path or another.  Forks in the road that may lead to amazing experiences, lessons, and gifts you wouldn’t have experienced otherwise.  Winding roads that may not make for a direct route to your dreams, but will deliver you to other dreams you hadn’t even thought of.

That is life.

And what a beautiful life it is.

You see, as far as your dreams are concerned, there are no wrong choices, bad times, poor actions, or failure.  There are simply choices that will help you and your dreams evolve.  There are paths that may send you into a forest of lessons, magic, miracles, and connections you never thought possible.  Each step you take will move you further along your path and each step will be perfect in its own right.  There are no wrong turns or choices.  There are just turns and choices that will move you along your path.

I say all of this to remind you that your dreams will grow, evolve, and change shape at times and everything that happens is perfect for YOU.  So sit back, relax, and make choices based on what feels right for you and know that even if it doesn’t bring you the outcome you first desired, that doesn’t mean it’s wrong or bad.  It’ just is what it is…another step, another lesson, another choice point for you in life.

When you take the emotional charge and judgement of right/wrong and good/bad and this/that, things not only feel easier, but your path will unfold in a more beautiful, flowing, and perfect way.

Remember everything is working out for you right here, right now.

Do you find yourself hanging onto right/wrong choices?  If so, what do you feel if you accept every step as perfect in all ways?  I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Dream Changer-Featuring Jennifer Seitzer

March 12, 2014 by Lamisha

***This weeks Dream Changer post comes from an amazingly courageous, creative, and kind soul named Jennifer Seitzer.  Her story reminds us that every experience we have (good, bad, or indifferent) is but a piece of our journey and helps to define our calling and gifts in this world.  May you find your own strength and courage in her story.  Enjoy!***

As a young girl you could always find me exploring wooded paths, forests, sitting beside brooks and streams, sitting under the moon and gazing at the stars or talking to my animal companions.

Trees, flowers, plants, crystals, and animals were my best friends being the very shy girl that I was and I found peace, serenity and truth in them.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, my family often moved so it was quite difficult to create and maintain close friendships, so I found solace in nature, music and art.

You could find my nose deep in stories of wonder, fantasy and happily ever after. I was an avid reader, artist and music was my therapy. I grew up in an addicted, alcoholic and abusive home so these are the things that I looked to, to escape and daydream of my prince sweeping me off my feet and riding off into the sunset.

Of course, that is not how life works. I was married at 18, pregnant at 19 and had my first child at the age of 20. My son was and still is the shining light in my life and heart. I had huge dreams of how I was going to take care of him and all the things I would give him. Again, that is not how life works and I was in for a rude awakening.

After 2 failed, abusive marriages and one more child later, I am now married to my high school sweetheart, my children are now grown (23 & 18) and I took the road less traveled.  In 1998 I stepped into counseling and for 6 years I was on a path to healing. It has been intense, painful, loving, genuine, real, but I was healing and that is where the Gift(s) lies. The life lessons in those dark nights of the soul have those golden nuggets of wisdom and the gifts and talents that only I possess unlike anyone else out there. We are all unique in our gifts because we all have our stories to tell only in the way that we can tell it. It is as unique as our DNA and our fingerprints.

The unfortunate casualties in the messes of my life history are my two children. Each of them with their stories now to tell and their own paths to Jennifer1healing, growth and lessons to learn. My children have been my greatest teachers and it has been through them that I found my true north.

I am the mother of an adult child addict and it is one of the most painful things to watch and walk through. As a mother the only thing I ever want to do is to protect, care and make all the hurt and pain go away. Addiction is a disease and like so many other diseases its onset is caused by an inextricable cluster of biological, behavioral and environmental factors.

For the last 5 years I have worked as a dog groomer and loved every minute of it. The big change came this year in January of 2014 when I quit my job. As a certified crystal healer, Reiki Level 1 Practitioner and Life & Soul Coach I wanted to create a life that makes a difference, that has purpose and meaning and one where I can leave a legacy for my children and that is when the Universe answered my call.

One afternoon I sat down to work out a business exercise in creating an avatar of my ideal client and to find who and what is my niche. My target audience. That is where everything changed. What I thought was my true calling actually led me to my True North.

I have now begun the path to becoming a Certified Recovery Coach. Working with other mothers and family members on the road to healing. Using the gifts I have from life experience and offering a wholistic way towards healing is where my heart lies. My dream  is to create a wellness center that centers around recovery using animal assisted therapy, nutrition, workshops, classes, meditation, yoga, crystal healing, energy healing and a safe place for those suffering to find their way back home. That home that lies within us all!

Jennifer2Jennifer is a mother of 2 beautiful children, ages 23 & 18.  She is married to her high school sweetheart and is owned by 2 cats (Salem & Whiskers) and one adorable Westie named Ziggy.  She is strained as a Certified Crystal Healer through Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy, a Reiki Level One Practitioner in addition to being a Certified Life & Soul Coach.

Jennifer is also the creatrix of the informational website Spirit of Earth Healing as well as the owner of the Etsy Shop Spirit Earth Crystals. Jennifer has a passion for all things crystal, herbal, earthy and spiritually related. She offers Custom Crystal Medicine Bags, offline and virtual soul coaching as well as distant healings.

It’s All About Love

February 14, 2014 by Lamisha

loveI love all things ‘love’.  As a Leo I am a hopeless romantic who enjoys all the traditional valentines gifts.  You know, chocolate, flowers, candles, perfume etc.  I enjoy it all.  I cry at happy endings to amazing love stories and anything that has a heart or the word ‘love’ on it you can bet your bottom dollar I want it.  But Valentines Day (and every other day of the year) isn’t just about romantic love.  We are moving into a world that offers a spirit of universal love in all forms and I LOVE that!

Not only are more people practicing random acts of kindness and sharing their love for humankind with one another, but we are moving into a period where more and more people are doing the work that they love.  More people are accepting their bodies, personalities, and true gifts each and every day.  More people are lending a helping hand when they see someone is in need and standing up for those who can’t speak for themselves.

It’s All About Love…keylove

Today and everyday, love yourself, treat yourself, and stop all that negative-dream-crushing-self-talk that keeps you playing small.  Be kind to others and to yourself!  Do more of what you love.  Find your gifts.  Love them and embrace them and for goodness sakes give them to the world!  Listen to your heart and follow the call to do work that you absolutely adore.  That passion you have burning in your soul, use it!  Support one another in struggles and successes.  Share, care, and collaborate when you can.  Uplift and motivate.  Inspire and ignite the fire that has been dormant for too many of us for far too long.

We are provided 24 amazing hours each day to live the best way we know how and I can’t think of a better way than to practice love in any way we can.  It’s simple to do if we can break away from our monkey minds, computers, smart phones, and get off of autopilot that we tend to be operating from most days.  Be conscious, aware, and open to how love may present itself to you.  You just might be surprised at how often you see, feel, and share it when you become aware.

And should you find yourself wondering where to begin, start with yourself.  Go out and do the things that bring you joy.  Paint, sing, write, crochet, dance, draw, read, take pictures, work out, create, or whatever it is that you haven’t given yourself the permission to do.  Go do that!

I truly believe life is meant to be enjoyed and love is meant to be shared, so get out there and do it!  And should you find yourself stuck, confused, or in a rut and unable to figure out how to move forward with your amazing passion, purpose, and dreams.  Know that I would be honored to be a part of your journey by sharing my gift of coaching with you.  There is nothing I love more than sharing in the excitement and wonder of my clients….except maybe chocolates and roses. 🙂

Now is your time to shine and do more of what you LOVE and I want to help you do that.  Contact me today to sign up for free consultation and find out how I can help you infuse your life with more love, inspiration, and joy.  You deserve it!

Being Here, Instead of There

February 3, 2014 by Lamisha

I find that I learn life lessons far better through experience as opposed to theory and this past weekend, I found myself learning a life lesson that I have known in theory for many years, but am only now beginning to bring it into my experience by one of the wisest teachers I know….my three year old son.

You see the misconception that many people have about parenting is that the parent is the “know all” to the child.  Parents are supposed to teach all the important life lessons since theoretically we have learned them all ourselves and while that may be true for some things, I find I learn far more from my son, than I have taught him in the last 3 years of his life.  The most recent lesson came yesterday when he absolutely refused to take his nap.  (If you are a parent, you know exactly what I am talking about.)

The lesson he taught me: Be.Here.Now.behere

The struggle began with my preconceived, preplanned expectation of what I wanted to accomplish during nap time yesterday.  I had some work to do and it seemed that nap time was a good time to dig in and get some things done before the big game.  My son had plans of his own.  Mainly to avoid sleep at all costs and to teach Momma a very important lesson about life.

Every time I tried to put my little one down for his nap, he fought me.  Being the parent, I thought I knew what was best for him and could tell that he was in fact tired.  It was my duty to get him down so he could rest his weary head, right?  Maybe.  Upon further reflection today, I realized what I was really trying to do was get him to fall in line with my expectations so I could have a bit of a rest and get some (in my mind very important) things done.

Instead of listening to what he truly needed, I was focused on all the things I needed to do, but wasn’t able to.  I was watching the hours tick by and was planning for the disaster that would occur if he didn’t take his nap.  Cranky kid, cranky Momma, and no work done.  Sadly and selfishly, my thoughts were not on what my son needed from me in that moment, but on what I needed him to do so I could move on with the rest of my schedule.

Thinking about it this morning, I was filled with guilt and the worst kind…Momma-guilt.  The kind that breaks your heart and makes you feel like the worst mother on the planet.  Luckily, I didn’t stay there long before I moved from guilt to curiosity.  What could I learn from this?

Is the lesson that good moms never lose their patience?

Nope.

What I learned is that regardless of what expectations I have set for the day, the week, the month, or the year, shit happens.  Plans don’t work out.  Kids don’t nap.  Cars break down.  It rains. (Though thankfully all that didn’t happen in one day.) And when things don’t go as planned, it’s not only best to just roll with it, it’s imperative.

You see, even with plans and expectations for what I wanted to accomplish yesterday, I could have been fully in the here and now.  And if I was, I would have been better equipped to roll with the punches and find a better way to spend my time.  Instead of thinking about the work I was not doing but desperately needed to do, I could have created some happy memories with my son.

The lesson in all of this is what I have known in theory all along.  Life is lived in the ‘now’.  Not the past or the future.  When we waste our days thinking about what we could’ve, should’ve, or would’ve done or about what has yet to come, we miss the most amazing, magical moments in life.  For me, those moments were with my son.  For you, it might be with your spouse, a friend, or a magical moment that could lead you to the next step of your dream.  And while I would love to say I have mastered this lesson and will always be patient and flow with life, I’m not sure that’s entirely true.

What I do know is that I will be far more mindful of where my thoughts are in the moment.  I will breathe.  I will think, and I will refocus on the present moment, especially when I am with my son.  Because let’s face it, time passes by too quickly and life is too short to worry about work, stress, bills, money, and material things when we have precious children, spouses, friends, pets, family members, etc. around us.

So my question for you is this:  Where are you now?  Here or There???
