Dream Changer-Featuring Jennifer Seitzer

March 12, 2014 by Lamisha

***This weeks Dream Changer post comes from an amazingly courageous, creative, and kind soul named Jennifer Seitzer.  Her story reminds us that every experience we have (good, bad, or indifferent) is but a piece of our journey and helps to define our calling and gifts in this world.  May you find your own strength and courage in her story.  Enjoy!***

As a young girl you could always find me exploring wooded paths, forests, sitting beside brooks and streams, sitting under the moon and gazing at the stars or talking to my animal companions.

Trees, flowers, plants, crystals, and animals were my best friends being the very shy girl that I was and I found peace, serenity and truth in them.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, my family often moved so it was quite difficult to create and maintain close friendships, so I found solace in nature, music and art.

You could find my nose deep in stories of wonder, fantasy and happily ever after. I was an avid reader, artist and music was my therapy. I grew up in an addicted, alcoholic and abusive home so these are the things that I looked to, to escape and daydream of my prince sweeping me off my feet and riding off into the sunset.

Of course, that is not how life works. I was married at 18, pregnant at 19 and had my first child at the age of 20. My son was and still is the shining light in my life and heart. I had huge dreams of how I was going to take care of him and all the things I would give him. Again, that is not how life works and I was in for a rude awakening.

After 2 failed, abusive marriages and one more child later, I am now married to my high school sweetheart, my children are now grown (23 & 18) and I took the road less traveled.  In 1998 I stepped into counseling and for 6 years I was on a path to healing. It has been intense, painful, loving, genuine, real, but I was healing and that is where the Gift(s) lies. The life lessons in those dark nights of the soul have those golden nuggets of wisdom and the gifts and talents that only I possess unlike anyone else out there. We are all unique in our gifts because we all have our stories to tell only in the way that we can tell it. It is as unique as our DNA and our fingerprints.

The unfortunate casualties in the messes of my life history are my two children. Each of them with their stories now to tell and their own paths to Jennifer1healing, growth and lessons to learn. My children have been my greatest teachers and it has been through them that I found my true north.

I am the mother of an adult child addict and it is one of the most painful things to watch and walk through. As a mother the only thing I ever want to do is to protect, care and make all the hurt and pain go away. Addiction is a disease and like so many other diseases its onset is caused by an inextricable cluster of biological, behavioral and environmental factors.

For the last 5 years I have worked as a dog groomer and loved every minute of it. The big change came this year in January of 2014 when I quit my job. As a certified crystal healer, Reiki Level 1 Practitioner and Life & Soul Coach I wanted to create a life that makes a difference, that has purpose and meaning and one where I can leave a legacy for my children and that is when the Universe answered my call.

One afternoon I sat down to work out a business exercise in creating an avatar of my ideal client and to find who and what is my niche. My target audience. That is where everything changed. What I thought was my true calling actually led me to my True North.

I have now begun the path to becoming a Certified Recovery Coach. Working with other mothers and family members on the road to healing. Using the gifts I have from life experience and offering a wholistic way towards healing is where my heart lies. My dream  is to create a wellness center that centers around recovery using animal assisted therapy, nutrition, workshops, classes, meditation, yoga, crystal healing, energy healing and a safe place for those suffering to find their way back home. That home that lies within us all!

Jennifer2Jennifer is a mother of 2 beautiful children, ages 23 & 18.  She is married to her high school sweetheart and is owned by 2 cats (Salem & Whiskers) and one adorable Westie named Ziggy.  She is strained as a Certified Crystal Healer through Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy, a Reiki Level One Practitioner in addition to being a Certified Life & Soul Coach.

Jennifer is also the creatrix of the informational website Spirit of Earth Healing as well as the owner of the Etsy Shop Spirit Earth Crystals. Jennifer has a passion for all things crystal, herbal, earthy and spiritually related. She offers Custom Crystal Medicine Bags, offline and virtual soul coaching as well as distant healings.

Yay for March-New Month, New Opportunities

March 4, 2014 by Lamisha

Happy Tuesday Dreamers!

I don’t know about you but I am so happy that we have entered a new month.  For some reason February seemed like a lay low kind of month no matter how much I wanted and needed to get done.  (Mercury retrograde possibly?)  Did you experience your fair share of setbacks too?  Well lucky for us, we are in a new month and spring is on the way! That means new growth, new opportunities, and new ways to work with me!

I was sharing on Facebook today that I am terrible keeping secrets, so I won’t even try (at least not too hard) to keep you in the dark.

Here’s what’s new.

I realize the idea of jumping into one-on-one coaching with me (or with anyone) can be an intimidating thing for many people.  The idea of sharing your deepest dreams with a perfect stranger can be a daunting thing to face especially if you haven’t really embraced the possibility that your dreams can come true.  So, I decided to create a group coaching program that I am testing with a beta group for the month of March.  This coaching option will give you a chance to learn many of the things I share in my one-on-one coaching in a group setting so it doesn’t feel so intimidating.  There will also be a way for you to connect with other dreamers so you have support not only from myself, but from others on their own dream journey.

Interested?

I will be releasing more information about the launch date, how to sign-up, and the specifics of the program in the coming weeks and I don’t want you to miss out on the details.  So, if you haven’t already done so, please sign up for my VIP List so you are the first to know!  I want to keep the group manageable to ensure each participant is getting the most out of the program so space will be limited!

Not sure you want to wait for the group program or are you interested in what individual coaching can do for you?  Contact me to schedule a coaching consultation to chat about your vision and how I can support you in creating the life of your dreams.  This session is totally free and helps you get to know me a bit to see if I am the right coach for you.  It’s also a chance for me to answer any questions you might have about the coaching process and how I work.  I believe in you and I’m ready to support you in bringing your vision to reality.

Dream Changer-New Series

February 26, 2014 by Lamisha

dreamchanger

I have been thinking about this series for a few weeks now and I am so excited to share with you some truly amazing fellow dreamers and achievers over the course of, well hopefully the rest of the year.  I think it’s important for anyone who is just starting out on a new goal or dream path to hear stories about others who have been where you are.  It’s not only meant to be a source of inspiration, but I hope you can take away some sage advice that can be applied to your own dreams.

So, here’s how it works.  Each week I will highlight a new dreamer and their answer to one simple question:

What is or has been your ‘Dream Changer’?

A Dream Changer can be a moment, a phrase, advice from a friend, or a feeling that changed everything in terms of your dreams.  To start us off, I am going to tell you a little about my dream changer.

If you have read my story, you know I wanted to be a life coach for a very long time, but the ‘traditional’ path I thought I needed to take just wasn’t working for me.  I felt like I was spinning my wheels trying so hard to move forward only to find I hadn’t moved even an inch.  That went on for close to 3 years.  The Dream Changer came in a few simple words from a co-worker who had just signed up to go back to school so she could do what she really wanted to do.

Her words, “Sometimes, you just have to take that leap.”

Those words hit me in my heart.  I knew she was right. That moment and those words began my path into doing what I love, my way.

Instead of following the path of another and finding a way to make myself fit the mold, I created my own path.  That was in April of 2013 and here I am not only writing about coaching, but working with clients, planning new programs, and reaching for the stars! My Dream Changer could very well be called my Dream Maker, because without those words, I might still be spinning my wheels looking for a way to fit the mold.  Luckily a dear friend and coworker shared her sage wisdom with me and I listened.

Do you have a Dream Changer or know of someone who would be great for this series?  Please feel free to contact me with their info.  I would love to highlight as many dreamers as possible in this series so others know that they are not alone in the pursuit of an amazing life.  It all starts with one step.

Have you taken that step?  Do you have a dream or passion that is burning in your soul, but you haven’t quite figured out how to make it come to life?  I am a master at untangling the web of anxiety and fear to help you realize your dreams, so shoot me an email and schedule your consultation to find out if I’m the coach for you.  If it turns out I am not, I will help you find a great fit.  It’s a win-win situation.

Keeping Your Dreams Alive

February 25, 2014 by Lamisha

dreamsalive

So you find yourself with this uber-mucho-grande dream of all dreams.  It’s a tall order and the more you envision it, the more excited you get at the possibility of it becoming reality.  All is well as long as you stay in your imagination and allow it to run wild, but at some point, ‘real life’ takes over and you start thinking about the ‘how’.

Questions flood your mind about how you will find the time, money, connections, resources, and know-how to make it happen.

It’s going to take some time, patience, inspiration, and lots of baby steps to move you toward your dreams.

So how do you keep your dreams alive while you patiently move forward?

Boy, do I know what that’s like and it’s something I hear from my clients all the time.  When you feel like there is a bit of a standstill or specifics that need to be worked out before you can get to the ‘action’ of your dreams, then it can be hard to not allow your dreams fall by the wayside.  Real life has a way of being in our face at all times and bills, jobs, kids, family, etc. tend to take precedence.

But here is what I want you to know.

Your dreams will take some time to come to fruition, but no matter how long they take, they will happen!  All you have to do is find a way to continue to put your energy into your dreams even if it isn’t the active energy you are used to.

Lucky for you I have put together a list of 20 Ways to Keep Your Dreams Alive.  In fact you can grab your copy as a free gift for signing up for my VIP List.  (I promise you want to be on this list because I am working on a new way for you to work with me as well as some awesome free stuff that I want to get out to you in the coming months!)

Signing up for my VIP List is easy, just click here and enter your info.  I promise to keep all of your contact information safe and not to send you anything that isn’t super important or inspiring.

Do you already have some ways you keep your dreams alive?  If so, share in the comments I would love to know!

“Do It All Right Now”-Syndrome

February 24, 2014 by Lamisha

In the last two weeks or so I have had many conversations with fellow dreams who have so many things they want to accomplish and either aren’t sure where to begin or just have to do it all right now.

I can relate.medium_4242711301

I can be a bit (ahem) impatient at times especially when it comes to my dreams.  I want to help all the women in the world  make their dreams come true, but setting a goal like that is paralyzing.

It’s much easier to accomplish when you take it one step at a time.  After all, this journey is not meant to be a sprint right?  It’s meant to be the most amazing marathon (wait are marathon’s fun, I’ve never done one).  Anyways you get my point.

We aren’t here to do it all right now.  And if we were, by trying to do it all right away, we miss the magical moments and wondrous hours of pure bliss knowing we did it.

So, if you find yourself suffering from “Do It All Right Now”-Syndrome, try a few of my tips below:

    • Breathe- Take nice slow deep breaths to and focus on the moment.  If I have learned anything in yoga it is that we don’t breathe deeply enough in our day-to-day tasks, so just breathe.
    • Focus- Find one thing that you can do right now.  It’s probably going to seem small, but the size of the action doesn’t matter, remember your dreams happen with consistent inspired action and progress.
    • Meditate- I know, I know.  I say this all the time, but I promise it helps.  Take a break and re-center yourself with a meditative walk or guided meditation.  It will not only call the “must act now” vibes, but also help you clear your head so you can take it one step at a time.
    • Remember- Your path is meant to be a journey and if you are so busy moving through the moments just to get to the next you miss an entire barrage of lessons, joy, and experiences you can’t get anywhere else.  So, slow down and know that you will get to it all, but you don’t have to do it all right this very second.

If you find yourself trying to untangle the web of ideas, action steps, and things you want to do right now and need some help, contact me.  I am a master and helping you find clarity in your dreams and can help you ease into your action steps one at a time so you can enjoy the amazing journey that is before you.  Isn’t the what life is all about?  Doing what you love and taking the time to enjoy it.  There is no better time than the present!
