Blame it on your brain…

Happy Tuesday Friends,

Today, I want to share with a little mind-hack that will help you get a better handle on all things mindset & hopefully support you in shifting your thoughts & beliefs faster than ever. 
 

The mind-hack boils down to this…
Blame it on  your brain. 

 

Your brain (aka your mind) is a really amazing tool when it’s working with & for you, but it can also be a pain in the butt sometimes because it’s…

– Lazy- It wants to use as little energy as possible to understand & process the world around it. It uses shortcuts, old stories & thought patterns (that we all have been practicing out entire lives) more than it is willing to look for another way. 

-Like a helicopter parent- Anything that is outside of your norm or uncomfortable is often deemed as dangerous. To combat this danger, it will get your entire body up in a tizzy with anxiety, fear & racing thoughts about why this thing you are thinking of doing is absolutely a terrible idea. It screams “danger” at virtually everything that is new because it’s trying to “keep you safe”. 

-Always looking for problems- It’s not that your brain *wants* 99 problems, but it is often trying to protect you from the potential problems that could occur by hyper-focusing on them under the guise that it can find a solution to them all. (It can’t but it’s sure going to try.) Unfortunately, it never really gets to the “solution” phase of things so your mind just spins & spirals out of control. 

–Convinced it “just doesn’t know”- It is convinced it doesn’t know the how, who, what or the path forward & these thoughts are often enough to keep us stuck where we are because we start to believe it too. It wants a full-proof, safe & secure plan with multiple back-ups before it is generally ready to take a step forward. 

-Busy- It’s busy doing all of the above the majority of our lives and it will continue to do so unless we learn to work with our brain/mind & understand it’s confusing (yet good intentioned) ways. 
 

And it just so happens that mindset & energy work (the two things I will talk about until the cows come home) is the key.
 

So I guess the mind-hack is really this…

Blame it on your brain AND interrupt it’s nonsense when it’s not working for you.

When you understand that your brain is just going to do what it does (everything I listed above), then you don’t have to get caught up in the stories, fears, & other nonsense in conjures up. You have the opportunity to interrupt the pattern to shift & change your story, the meaning & weight you give to any circumstance & choose differently.

Different thoughts & beliefs.
Different energy & actions.
Different stories & practices.

And you do all of that more consistently, effectively & powerfully when you do the mindset & energy work consistently & with accountability. 

Mindset is so much more than just thinking “happy thoughts” & saying a few mantras here & there. It’s deep work that requires attention, focus, consistently & often accountability.

??? Can you do this work on your own & see results…YES you can & you probably already are.

???  Can you choose to invest in yourself & expedite said results…YES & you will be blown away by the outcomes.

As always, the choice is yours to make. 

Choose your own mindset adventure & know that if you are someone who has done some of this work already & you’re eager to see what else is possible for you, it might be time for the level-up.  

So, if you’re doing the mindset work & interrupting the brain doing what it does…keep going.
And if you’re not, this is your sign to get busy. 

Remember, you are more powerful than you know & you already have so much that is working for you.

You are so much closer to your breakthrough moment than you realize & a few mindset tweaks are just the thing to take you over the edge.  <3

You were made for more…

You know how I know this work is what I was *made* for?

It’s because even on my hardest days (& I’ve had many in the last month or so) I still believe in this work & the power it has to change lives. I truly believe that the power to change the world for the better begins & ends with us.

Yes, voting for the right “powers that be” is important but you know what is more powerful? Us.



You & I + the people in our circles of influence.



And the way we change the world is by stepping up into our power, doing the things we feel called (but sometimes don’t feel ready or equipped ) to do.

Listen…the desires of your heart aren’t just about you. They create a chain reaction that ripples out into the world to lead others to do the same.Your business, book, non-profit, play, speaking gig, production, product, article, song or whatever other idea you have is all part of the tapestry of change.

And yes-the other seemingly insignificant desires in the grand scheme of things are important too. Finding your voice, setting boundaries, loving yourself, making more money, finding your joy etc. are all part of changing the world too. <—Probably more than you know.

I’ve always said I wanted to change the world & the more I do this work the more I realize it’s less about ME & more about the ripple effect of WE.


I know you were made to do your thing because I can see the parts of you that maybe you don’t. The power, potential & brilliance that this world needs! And I know that if you have the desire to do it, you also have the potential to create it.

Even when you’re afraid, even when you wonder “how” & even when you occasionally doubt yourself.

You were made for more & you know it. And the truth is…you don’t “need” me to get to where you want to be. You are more than capable of getting there & whether you realize it or not, where you are now is part of getting “there”. 

But you might choose to work with me because you’re ready to go all in & expedite those life changes you can’t stop thinking about. This work does just that.

Homework –> Reconnect with “why” you want what you want & then *DO* something today to move toward it.

2 Tips to shift your vibration *today*

You know how I often say things can & do shift in an instant? Well, it all begins with you where you place your focus & how it makes you feel. 

Below are 2 things you can do today, to create those instant shifts I’m always talking about.(You’re going to want to print this one out & use it over and over again.)

1. Actively look for signs that things are working out for you TODAY.

Not when your problem is solved or when you have more $$. Not when your weight changes or when you meet your soulmate. Not when you know “how” it’s all going to come together or when you hit your ultimate goal. Look for the signs that it’s working out for you today.

What counts as a sign? Anything that stands out & has meaning to you. See a rainbow or repeating numbers on a license plate? That’s your sign. See a quote that resonates with exactly what you’re going through? Boom…another sign. Find some money on the ground or get a free meal because the person in front of you paid…also a sign. Hear someone telling a story about doing the exact thing you’ve been working toward? Yep, another sign that things are working out for you. 

Look for the signs & write them down. Make it a fun game you play and celebrate with every sign you notice. You will be surprised at how many signs are just hanging around waiting for you to notice. (Bonus points if you share them with someone for accountability & to enhance the vibe.)

2. Make a list of all the times things HAVE worked out for you & plaster your walls with that list.

I’m sure you have your own moments when miracles & solutions have unfolded for you. Moments when things came together at the perfect time in just the perfect way. Write down all the stories that you couldn’t have written better yourself. Jot it all down and come back to it when you fall into doubt, fear or worry about things never working out for you. Often, when we are feeling the fear it’s because we’ve forgotten just how far we’ve come & what we’ve accomplished so far. This not only reminds you of all the times it worked out for you but also how it can & will work again.

Here’s something else you need to know…

The good stuff you create in your life (and the moments when things work out magically) aren’t some crazy coincidence or stroke of good luck…YOU DID THAT!

With your mindset, energy, baby steps, inner work and more… YOU DID THAT!

It’s not random & it’s certainly not about luck. This is what happens when you *do* the work. Things change for the better, you feel more in flow & good shit happens.

When I am working with clients, I am constantly reminding them that the magic & manifestations they’ve experienced are the results of this work. *They* did the work & these are the results. Nothing is a coincidence. No outcome is the Universe throwing you a bone or giving you a break. It is 100% the result of  you doing this work.

The more you OWN your role in those golden magical moments, the more of these moments you will have. Not only that, but the more you remember what *you* have already created, the easier it is to create more of the same.

And if you thought it all happened by accident or because you got “lucky”….imagine the kind of magic you can create when you do it *intentionally*. <—That’s power right now. That’s the kind of power you have available to you right now.

5 Golden nuggets for the week…

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been coaching my clients through a variety of “stuff”…

We’ve talked about things like…

–> Connecting to/healing your inner child & how that plays into mindset
–> Setting personal & professional boundaries & reconnecting with personal power
–> Shifting procrastination & the beliefs that fuel it
–> How to stop over-riding intuition & learn to lean into it more often

These are women who signed up for this work in order to…

–> Overcome fear to build the business they were made for
–> Get out of their own way so they can live the BIG life they desire
–> Break free from the stuck & stagnant life & finally find joy again
–> Find their purpose & create the life they’ve always known was possible
–> Breakthrough the slump so they can write their book, start the podcast & change lives

When I do this work with clients, I always say we “go where we need to go” because it’s all part of the work. 

At the end of the day, my job is to help YOU tap into the brilliance & power you already ARE. I get to guide you back to the powerful *you* that has always existed & is already within you now.
I can’t give you the step-by-step-how-to guide to your specific goals, but I *can* and *do* give you the the step-by-step guide back to YOU & that’s really all that you need.

So, with that said, I wanted to share with you 5 golden nuggets that I have shared with clients over the last few weeks. Take them, use them & apply them to your life ASAP & watch how things begin to shift for you. 

1. It’s not your job to manage other people’s thoughts, feelings, perceptions or expectations of YOU. Your job is to BE you, fully, unapologetically & authentically. Stay in your lane, speak your truth, & stand fully in your power. That’s your job.

2. Making decisions = power. When you find yourself falling into fear, doubt, & worry, make a decision. Decide what you can & will do to right now, then do it. Making decisions (&following through) creates momentum & helps you tap back into your power. The truth is, you probably already know what decision you need to make now. Just do it already.

3. How you *choose* to show up is everything. You can’t control all the things you might want to right now, but you always get to *choose* how  you show up. I’m talking in mindset, energy & action. Choosing how you will show up is another way to reconnect to the power you already have within. Don’t underestimate this one!

4. Rest isn’t some commodity to be earned, it’s a necessity for your entire journey. Build rest into your days like it’s your job & watch what kind of magic unfolds. You probably don’t feel guilty breathing oxygen everyday, so don’t feel guilty about taking a time-out for your mind, body & soul. 

5. There is no thought, opinion or belief more powerful than your own. Your friends, family members, followers and yes…even your spouse don’t get to dictate what you create, unless you give them that power. Trust yourself, do your thing & feel free to tell the limiting beliefs/thoughts/opinions of others to kick rocks.  

These nuggets are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what you gain when you sign up to work with me.Not to mention the stories of magic, miracles & solutions that you will be sharing as a result.

It’s not all or nothing…

I’ve learned a lot over the last month & one thing is simply this…

Life isn’t an all or nothing game.

It’s never all good or all bad, even if it seems like that sometimes.

The more we look for & manage the AND…aka finding the joy/calm in the storm, looking for what’s working when it feels like nothing is & celebrating what we can even in the chaos, the better off we will be.
I’m not saying it’s always easy to do, but this is our work.

It’s the thing that gets you to the other side of the shitty stuff life throws at you & it’s what makes life worth living.

And did I mention it helps you get to the other side faster?


Managing your mind, energy & focus when life is flying off the rails IS the work to get back to where you want to be.


Remember…when your mind is stagnant & left to its own devices it will always repeat the stories that are familiar to you (& often the most painful & challenging).

The ones that say you’ll never get there, it can’t happen, you’re not ready, it hasn’t happened yet & that means it will never happen, you’re just not meant for the “more” your heart desires…this is it, this is as good as it gets.

And you know what…it’s all BS. It’s actually NOT true, but when you’re not actively aware of what you’re thinking & being intentional with your mind, thoughts, energy & action…you believe it.

You limit your life, shrink your power & start to see evidence to support those BS thoughts/beliefs.
Deep down you know that’s not who you ARE.

You’re not here to live a limited life & you know it. You feel it daily….the question is, what are you going to do about it?
